Lorenzo's Oil Revisited
Chances are you don't take it. I investigated it thoroughly and even had a decent source secured. I only opted out when I was told it would nullify my medical insurance. Depending on whatever scientific report you read it either doesn't work, or stops/reverses progression if you start taking it before

Synacthen Test Result
Hi allJust recently got result from endo. Obviously it rules out Addisons which is good and I responded to the inj. The second blood draw was actually done 40 mins post administration but I'm assuming that wouldn't have affected the overall result too much. However I know my baseline blood cortisol is

low T4 and T3 normal TSH
I posted earlier in the year about my daughter diagnosed with post partum thyroiditis , no treatment at the time but endocrinologist said he’d keep an eye on her! Her most recent results seem odd to me in that both T4 and T3 are very low but her TSH is also low - her case has been closed and results

diabetic macular oedema or problems with blood flow to the eye
I went for my eye clinic appointment today and the doctor there said that I may not have diabetic macular oedema but a problem with the flow of blood to my eye. I am to have a fluorescein angiography to see if it is thst. An interesting appointment and I hope they can find an answer.

Hashimotos and Vitamin Deficiencies
When asking a dr. for a thyroid (& platelet) blood test, as I have not had it tested for well over two years, I asked if ft3 & 4 could be tested, plus possibly vitamins as I have hashimoto’s. She gave me the classic reply that I only needed tsh and said that only parathyroid conditions cause vitamin

Fitbit or Apple?
I am having quite a few supraventicular ectopics and occasional ventricular ectopics which have been picked up on a recent 7 day monitor. I think it is the above that are contributing to my drops in blood pressure after eating or whilst standing for too long. The arrhythmia nurse is not sure about the

Medication Clomipramine
Hello all. I went to see a psychiatrist today who suggested I take Clomipramine antidepressant as I am very depressed and sometimes suicidal. Has anybody else taken this. It says it interferes with levothyroxine. Thank you.

"Subacute" "Combined" spinal cord degeneration, decoded?
An ongoing question is the meaning of the initial terms of Subacute Combined Spinal Cord Degeneration. Jade recently posted a link to the article, "A Case of Subacute Combined Degeneration of Spinal Cord Diagnosed by Vitamin B12 Administration Lowering Methylmalonic Acid" I was grazing through the references

Why did I go looking... Zinc inhibits cortisol
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/1702662/ So I need to add that into the supplement timing game... not much good taking it at the same time as Hydrocortisone or Adrenal Glandular 😮 https://medericenter.org/resources/dr-pamela-blog/zinc-and-the-stress-response.html Might be handy for anyone with high

TSH increased but no medication change
Hi, My recent blood tests showed my TSH has increased from 1.12 to 2.4 and I haven’t changed anything. Is there a reason this would happen or does it just fluctuate? I have been eating a lot of cruciferous everyday. Would that have an impact? My FT4 has remained pretty constant.

Vitiligo - anyone else?
Hi Everyone I just wondered if anyone else has vitiligo alongside their RA? I noticed a white dot on my arm last year and then found patches on my chest, forehead, under my arms, top of legs, tummy and even my do-dah!! (😮😮) I had a biopsy about six weeks ago and the dermatologist confirmed that

Why do I have a high pulse?
I hope someone can help me. I was diagnosed with pernicious anaemia after asking to be tested. It turned out my Vitamin B12 level was 117 pmol/l. I was given cyancobalamine injections every 3 months. No loading doses. Later SI weekly with methylcobalamine I order from Germany. Lately, I have the

Why the Hesitancy in Recommending Combination T3/T4 Therapy?

tirosint 50
Hi everyone, Up till now I have been taking Thybon T3 only but my doctor wanted me to add T4 , so I added Tirosint 50. I did feel tired so I reduced my T3 slightly. My question is, do I take the T4 with the T3 in the morning, or before? I also take T3 in evening. I am trying to do bloods, tried twice
