Vitiligo - anyone else?

Hi Everyone

I just wondered if anyone else has vitiligo alongside their RA? I noticed a white dot on my arm last year and then found patches on my chest, forehead, under my arms, top of legs, tummy and even my do-dah!! (😮😮)

I had a biopsy about six weeks ago and the dermatologist confirmed that yes it was vitiligo! I think I had come to that conclusion by now. He suggested UV light treatment or a cream and I’m going to try the cream, unless it gets bad on my face.

When I mentioned I’m now on methotrexate for my RA he said this would actually help the vitiligo, as it’s also an autoimmune disease. Will see how I get on with the cream.

I got vitiligo when I had ME.

This was 40 years ago . Then ME was classed as a condition for neurotic women!

Bit like AF 20 years ago.

I was SO glad when white skin patches appeared!!!! At last I had concrete proof that there was something wrong . Hope yours clears up !!

It seems to also be an auto-immune condition. Yes, another one to add to the list. If you have one you may have another. Glad to hear you have a diagnosis.

I have just noticed small white circles on my hands and wondered what it was. Hope it just goes away and does not spread to other areas.

do get them checked out beeckey and don’t just assume they are vitiligo as they could be something else 🤞🏻
