It might depend who did the Lap. If it was an ordinary gynae, it's possible that things were missed … but if it was done at a specialist Endo Centre, (BSGE) Centre in the UK, this is less likely. [NB - Of course it may depend on where you are in the world].
Did you have an exploratory lap beforehand? I believe it is now suggested/expected/official??? in the UK, that ordinary (??) Gynaes should not be removing endo in 'difficult' places, such as the Pouch of Douglas and on the diaphragm; but that such case should be referred to specialist endo clinics (BSGE Centres).
I would talk to the advisors at 'Endo UK'. I think one of the biggest problems for women, in the UK, is that they are not fully advised of their options, and often end up having removals of endo, at laps that should maybe done by Endo specialist. On the other hand, the waiting list at the Endo Centres seems to be getting ever longer … according to other comments made on here. If you are in the UK, I would go back to your GP and ask about the official protocol that he has (or should have) for referring women to Endo Centres, rather than to general gynae centres. But do please, contact the 'Endo UK' advisors.
Hey I’m had my diagnostic lap in April mines wasn’t a endo specialist that done my op , I was diagnosed stage 4 also on my diaphragm and liver but he did say to me afterwords that because mines was so severe when they went in they then looked all over and that how I was diagnosed with it on diaphragm and liver.. next app I would defo mention this as that is a classic side affect to endo on diaphragm xxx
