How to Age Well
How to Age Well By Tara Parker-Pope @nytimeswell Save for Later Getting older is inevitable (and certainly better than the alternative). While you can’t control your age, you can slow the decline of aging with smart choices along the way. From the foods you eat and how you exercise to your friendships

Rls and food
Hi everybody and a happy new year. I have recently becoming very blasé about my Rls because I have had such a good run until recently. I've enjoyed good sleep and managed my rls until the last two nights. I did not sleep a wink last night and I'm trying to make some sense about my condition. I'm currently

New boy waiting for results of my Parkinson's test. . .99% positive or result.
I'm a 51yrs old bloke living in Bournemouth, who believes that he has Parkinsons disease. I've been type 1 diabetic for 41yrs and had a non related stroke 17 yrs ago. This outwardly left me unchanged but the whole of my right hand side is now in constant pain. I've tried nearly every alternative method

Neck pain
I have suffered neck pain for many years. I work for NHS & at a computer 24/7 - I do all the usual things like take a break every hour for 5 mins, neck exercises daily, make my bag less heavy, bought new mattress & pillows but still wake up in pain so am therefore forced to use a TENS machine which does

15 Years On and Still Going Strong
As some of you may know I had near fatal viral meningitis in July 2002. I wasn't expected to last the night on the 13th July let alone be around and kicking some 15 years on. So what does it feel like to be 15 years on from a life changing experience? In a word, pretty awesome. OK so that's two words

Cranial Electro Stimulation (CES)
I think I posted about this before. Cranial Electro Stimulation (CES) is the business of passing an extremely low ampere electrical current through your brain. Do not confuse it with Electro Shock Therapy. There is 30+ years of research into CES, with no adverse effects. Most research is directed at

Thoughts on the underlying causes of Thyroid disease
I have had hypothyroidism only since having a major operation which triggered the illness. I later discovered I actually had Lyme disease and did not need the op in the first place. I privately funded Lyme treatment at great cost and involving several courses of IV antibiotics after which I felt totally

Never know what I'm doing
Hi all, My son is nearly 7 and has always had problems with the toilet- as a baby and toddler he suffered terribly with constipation which took us ages to get sorted, the whole thing was made worse once I had my second son - fairly typical, but I didn't cope well with it (think I had PND and feel terribly

"Those post symptoms you are experiencing couldnt possibly be related to meningitis" Yeah right!!
It always makes me so frustrated when Dr's think none of our problems stem from post meningitis issues. The government really needs to start doing long term follow-up studies on both bacterial and viral meningitis sufferers to confirm long term side effects of the disease. Its very nice to have these

TENS unit
I have been using a TENS unit with great effect for hip and leg pain, someone has just said that if you have an arrhythmia you should not use it. Should I be worried or should I avoid, so far since using it I have had no unusual heart rhythm or rate changes.
