Toenail Fungus Natural Remedy
I have suffered with this problem previously for years, tried all available over the counter chemist remedies with negative results and expensive exercise, did not try the tablets as did not wish to risk the side effects. Read somewhere that a small trial using vicks vaporub showed promising results,

PD Parkinson's diagnosis switched to Functional Tremor FND
I'm 49 years old and 1 year ago, I noticed a slight dominant-side resting tremor, arm and leg. It consistently got worse over 4 months, until I was diagnosed with Parkinson's by a movement specialist neurologist. Started carbi/levadopa to no effect. (Also tried a dozen different supplements) 6 months

Meditation - A potential case of remission of Parkinson’s disease
Abstract: We present the case of a 78-year-old male who, 16 years ago, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease (PD) by a neurologist. He initially presented with left-hand tremor, stooped posture, shuffling gait, and frequent falls, which eventually progressed to bilateral motor symptoms after 3 years

For Parkinson’s Patients, Genetic Testing May Open Possibilities
Physicians have had little incentive to order genetic tests for their Parkinson’s disease patients, although evidence suggests that up to 15% of these cases may be genetic. “Mutations in several different genes increase the risk of Parkinson’s disease,” says Roy N. Alcalay, MD, MS, the Alfred and Minnie

Not PD?
I am the caregiver for my spouse who was diagnosed with PD in 2013. He, like others on here had symptoms of Parkinson’s. They have never been what I considered severe with any of the symptoms. He is now 75 and was put on Sinemet 25/100. He took a total of 6 pills a day for quite some time. I have been

Difference between NDT and Freeze dried Thyroid concentrate
I’m still on a learning curve but am a bit confused about how the NDT referred to in many posts , which seems very difficult to get hold of, differs from the freeze dried Thyroid concentrate, which is available in the UK? I know the latter is in tablet form each 140 mg so I assume we don’t know how

Hyperbaric oxygen chamber
Anyone used a hyperbaric oxygen chamber to help with Parkinsons? From what I’m reading it helps with both motor and non motor symptoms and with the depression and anxiety that accompany Parkinsons.

Coffee Consumption Linked to Less Severe Tremors in Men With Parkinson
A new study has found a dose-dependent relationship between coffee consumption and reduced severity of tremors in men with Parkinson disease. Previous research has established that coffee is a negative risk factor for PD, a neurodegenerative disorder that produces motor symptoms, including tremor, as

CBD oil as a steroid sparer
Is this great news or what?! http://sterobiotechs.com/stero-cbd-solution/ "Our preliminary results in a phase II trial in GVHD show that CBD administration enhanced the therapeutic effect of steroids or reduced the steroid dosage while maintaining or improving the steroid’s original therapeutic effect

Shall I buy a car? AKA how long have I got doc?
Slightly tongue in cheek title but basically a genuine question... I’m 58. I first noticed clear symptoms (as opposed to those you realise with hindsight might have been earlier indicators) in 1/2015. Officially dx a year later 1/16 and started on 1mg pd of Rasagiline Then 15 months later (5/17) started

We now have 3 supplements that can potentially prevent or even break up alphasynuclein clumping.
I'm psyched that we now have identified 3 supplements that can potentially prevent or even break up alpha-synuclein clumping. 1. Vitamin B12 2. Carnosine (although potentially it is better to take the precursor, beta alanine)
[Edit to add this IMPORTANT NOTE: I personally stopped taking carnosine

L-carnosine
It seems like L-carnosine, a natural molecule of the brain, may have some significant benefits for PWP: https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/10/2/147 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18729814 Following is the relevant quotation from self hacked.com: 10) May Treat Parkinson’s Disease Carnosine reduces
