They may well come up with a proven product that reduces Pred dosage - but I doubt very much if they’ll spend too much money on research on completely replacing a drug that is -
I am glad that the potential of this substance is being properly explored. Thanks for posting. It does give hope.
If they can make a version the doesn't impact on a range of other meds like blood thinner, anti depressants etc it would be good. At the moment CBD can change the potency of other drugs via an enzyme in the liver. So any drug metabolised via the liver may be impacted.
Hi gtate1914, can I ask if you have any side effects that you can recognise by using the cbd oil. My elder brother has used it for neuropathy pain in his legs and his experience is that the only thing it did for him was to make him tired.
My rheumatologist is considering adding methotrexate as a steriod sparer. I'm thinking it would be worthwhile to try CBD oil first and see if it makes any difference. I have a standing order for a blood test to test my C Reactive Protein, so could I just try the CBD oil for awhile and then get my CRP tested and see if it has improved? I wonder how long I would have to take the CBD before I would see a difference? Any ideas?
Its hard to know what dosage would be right for each person. I go by symptoms. I've been taking cbd oil for about 10 months. I decided against methotrexate, did not want to add another drug with more bad side effects and would lower what immunity I still have. Besides, I did try methotrexate before the cbd and could see no positive effects. It did not work for me.
