My mum had parkinsons, how do I convince my doctor that I need a test
My poor mum had parkinsons, I have had restless leg syndrome for a long time but it has got worse, I went to the gp and he has given me mirapexin which is also for parkinson sufferers, I asked him for a test for parkinsons and he said there isnt one and whats the point of having it. I believe that

Uncertainty Principle
There is a theory in quantum mechanics sometimes called Heisenbergs Uncertainty Principle. It states that it is impossible to measure the position and momentum of an atom without affecting the overall system. I believe this theorem can be extended to Parkinson's patients who are tested by their professionals

More Bucket List Adventures: A Hike Through Rock Hound State Park & Sun Canyon
It was another sunny day in southern New Mexico yesterday. We left the motel before 8:00 AM to make the 11 mile road trip to Rock Hound State Park east of Deming. One of the more unique parks in the country, this tiny expanse of mountainous land allows visitors to take up to 15 pounds of rocks they mine

"Too skinny" . . Protein - Good or Bad?
I have read that PD patients should eat a low protein diet to help w/ the dopamine levels in the body. Is this the same for 'protein supplements'? How about 'Whey' protein? I'm looking to add some weight, I've lost 12 pounds of muscle.

Are exercise bikes helpful?
Having seen the recent reports on cycling and Parkinsons, I have got myself an exercise bike. I have cycled on a normal bike for many years. However, recently whilst I can still start cycling, cycle without a problem, I cannot stop and get off the bike. This has caused much laughter in my family, but

Thanksgiving at The Butterfield Stage Motel
The bucket list tour Lori and I started out on in September slowed down a bit this week due to the Thanksgiving holiday, a slight bit of homesickness on the part of my lovely wife, and the fact that my monthly check won't arrive in my bank account until this coming Wednesday. We spend a lot of time together

Chapter 5 - Part of your brain is missing.
I left the hospital armed with a starter pack of Ropinerole and a supply of motilium to counteract the nausea that seemed to kick in from the very first dose of Ropinerole that I took and swept through me causing my head to spin and my stomach to heave. I regularly lost what I had eaten whilst waiting

Did you know that only half of our disease is being treated?
Here is the skinny (the abstract) In the present review, we analyze the latest evidence for the implication of NA in the pathophysiology of PD obtained from animal models of
parkinsonism
and from parkinsonian patients.

Falling Down & PMR
Last Friday morning at about 7a.m. I heard the approaching refuse collectors in the road, so I got up quickly and put my dressing gown on. I unlocked the front door and stepped on to the step. I don't know what happened next as I seem to have done an "English Header" straight on to the paving slabs
