Can Exercise Help People with Parkinson’s Disease? 5 Things to Know
According to a study that tracked 237 patients over a five-year period, those with early-stage Parkinson’s disease who were more active had better physical outcomes than less active people with the disease. “Higher physical activity levels were strongly associated with better functioning in activities

Researchers discover new cellular mechanisms in Parkinson’s disease (technical)
“Our studies show that multiple pathways are perturbed in the disease and so we think that rescuing multiple pathways at once is essential for disease modification.” “We’re not saying that [alpha-synuclein aggregation] is not important, but we’re showing that there are other proteins and RNA inclusions

Good news from Korea - Stem cell-based therapy being developed by S.Biomedics
TED-A9 is an investigational therapy consisting of dopaminergic neuron precursors derived from human embryonic stem cells. These precursors are generated in a laboratory and have the potential to differentiate into various cell types under appropriate conditions. The therapy is surgically implanted

Subcutaneous combination therapy improves ‘good on’ time in Parkinson’s
Primary analyses from this phase 3 clinical trial of the investigational, subcutaneous infusion of levodopa/carbidopa (LD/CD) (ND0612) showed that treatment in doses of up to 720 mg/90 mg per day, supplemented with oral levodopa provided almost 2 additional hours per day of “Good On” time without troublesome

Caffeine
I’m on 87.5mcg levo for now (have been prescribed 100mcg, but am increasing slowly) and I plan to test again in another couple of weeks with MMH to see how my levels are doing. Over the past two weeks I’ve felt really well and have been out and about more - walking, shopping, out for coffee (only ever

Back after a long time
Hi everyone, I haven't posted in quite some time, but I'm back because I need input from all the wonderful people on this platform. More than five years ago, my mom had a fall and was put on hospice care. They gave up on us too quickly, and she ended up with an NG tube down her throat for months

Running on Hope! What??
And suddenly yestarday, can't explain why, my ebook becomes a bestseller on Amazon brain diseases category.😃 I wrote this book with the intent to help others, specially more recent diagnosed people, trying to leave some clues and to show that we can still have a fullfiled life with Parkinson's. RB-190 - A drug repurposed - for Parkinsons
There is hope! A drug repurposed for Parkinsons may become a game changer. Dr. Jonathan Sackner-Bernstein is working on a clinical trial (stage 2) for a repurposed drug for Parkinsons patients. He says, and all Parkinson's neurologists know that Parkinsons patients have little dopamine in their brains

Rasagiline and Mucuna together?
My MDS is a huge fan of rasagiline and I’ve taken it for almost 3 years, and want to continue to take Mucuna and carbidopa as needed along with it. I've read that Mucuna should not be taken with rasagiline. Is there any truth to this? I’m not going to stop taking rasagiline, and I’d rather not start

Please could I ask what your thoughts are on Stem Cell Therapy?
My wife was diagnosed with PD in 2015. She was fine until summer 2021 when she had a fall in the garden and ended up in hospital for 3 weeks. She was then put on Sinemet Plus 25/100 mg. Since then her deterioration has been quite fast. Rigidity, stiffness, slow movement and exhaustion getting worse

AZP2006 - Update
My husband has Parkinsons - I am always researching as to what is new and what might be helpful besides using the gold standard - Levodopa/Carbidopa for Parkinsons which incidentally was developed in the 1960's. It's high time that there is new research and new drugs available for Parkinsons patients
