What about stiffness

I think some of you already know that mom has contractures post her accident and cant move much. Recently her PT said - get her some muscle relaxant and omg what a difference. But i cant give it everyday.

Please advise what folks are doing for stiffness and muscular issues please. She does get a massage with magnesium oil and arnica - arms and legs. Magnesium oil stings a lil so never put it on her back.

I need advice on what folks do for stiffness , cause muscle relaxants are not advised for everyday / long term use.

Regards,

-j

I had a horrible accident with a bus door, and my shoulder definitely does a lot better if I take cyclobenzaprine. I only take it at night, and now on every other night because I don't want to become dependent.

Perhaps you can try magnesium capsules instead. I found magnesium glycinate to be very relaxing. Other members of this forum would be more knowledgeable about it.

I give her Magnesium Theoronate - maybe i will add half a glycinate to it and see how it works .

CBD oil. My husband buys his from HeadandHeal.com. They provide instructions on dosage and how much to take when you are first starting.

Thank you . Is this applied on the body or consumed orally ?

CBD Oil is used under the tongue - be aware the taste is not nice - I buy empty gelatine capsules and my husband puts the drops required into those and takes it. I have my PWP on a multi magnesium tab of 500mg + potassium 500mg per day - we both take this at night after evening meal with a milk drink - we both sleep very well, no cramping, no contractures, relaxed etc. If you are taking magnesium you should be taking the equivalent of potassium otherwise you will have an imbalance - which can cause blood pressure problems amongst others. We have found that the creams you apply sting and burn and not exactly helpful - hope this helps you and Mum, all the best.

I believe you can do both. There are creams and ointments with CBD, and there is tincture you can injest. Definitely helps me.

As to Magnesium, I was told Glycinate was better for treating rigidity than Threonate, which is reportedly more beneficial for "brain fog". They recommend taking Threonate in the morning, Glycinate before bed, but do be careful in just "adding another pill" - there is such a thing as "too much Magnesium" (hypermagnesemia). Does your mum have regular blood tests to ensure this does not happen (especially as you're running magnesium oil into her skin as well)?

I do have regular blood tests for her. Magnesium levels were normal but you are right , i cant double dose regularly. Did give her 1.5 tablets today- 1 threonate and 1/2 glycinate . Lets see how she does tomorrow . Thank you so much.
