Opioids and Paracetamol.
I have recommended using small doses of Paracetamol/Acetominophen to potentiate an opioid if it is being compromised by a trigger. This works well. However-- I have a cautionary tale to relate. I had a few molar tooth extractions recently and took extra paracetamol to relieve the pain. It certainly

Gabapentin
Hello I've previously had excellent advice thank you. I have now completely come off the nupro patch wasn't nice coming off the last quarter but I did it. I was taking gabapentin at the same time and after withdrawal from DA symptoms settled I was left with breakthrough from the gabapentin at bedtime

Taking ibuprofen while on a low dose of prednisolone
Hi I’ve already had one hip replaced 13 years ago (before my PMR diagnosis) and I’ve been lucky to get away with not having any trouble with the other - until recently. It’s deteriorating rapidly, and I’m on first steps of the “pathway” to have surgery, which I know will likely take years. The best

pain killers
Hi , I’m on Edoxaban 60 mg daily for stroke risk after 2 ablations . I’ve just pulled my back lifting a heavy box and although I’m not incapacitated I’m getting a lot of pain bending so trying to rest but with three young dogs to exercise I need to be active . I’m visiting my GP next week to discuss

Cystocele/Rectocele repair all done
I'm almost 6 weeks after my repair surgery. Recovery not to bad. First two weeks I was warned were crucial and told not to do anything except rest, which I did. Luckily we had hot sunny weather so I literally layed outside sunbathing in-between medication, meals and sleeping. No pain as I kept taking

Conflicting information
Would appreciate any thoughts/advice please. Approx 10wks ago I developed some aches & pains in arms and legs followed by a really bad cold that lasted a week and laid me up in bed for a day. I felt really unwell but repeated covid tests were all negative and the cold symptoms eventually cleared up.

Abdominal pain for over a year
Hi everyone, I have been struggling with pain on the right hand side of my abdomen for over one year. I had my gallbladder removed in 2021 and then my appendix out in 2022. Three weeks after the appendectomy, a new sharp pain began; initially it was thought to be related to my surgery. Since then

Upper arm pain ,one arm .
I have tapered over 2yrs to 1 1/2mg daily Pred. In the last week I have really bad muscle pain in my left upper arm. I am right handed. I can't lift my arm without pain. No neck or hip issues as when diagnosed. I have done nothing to have strained a muscle that I can think of. Paracetamol hasn't

I had my pacemaker in 2020, it was repositioned last year as I was getting lots of pain from the left side of it , for the first few months i was pain free but gradually it’s started to cause discomfort which has now developed into pain . There’s no sign of any infection but at times I can’t cope with

oh my!
clearly my RLS is nothing like the posts I have been reading thankfully. I tend to have it materialise when sitting down in evenings and same with my husband so we get up and “ say “ I am just going to walk the estate” - the living room! Other times it starts when I get into bed and remain sitting

TO INCREASE PRED OR NOT? 3 WEEKS IN BED.
I have been incapacitated due to back muscle spasms and low back pain for well over 2 months. Mostly on the bed for 3 weeks, but able to use walker and now sit on loo and to eat meals (if I eat quickly). When walking without walker, my back gives out after a few minutes. The last few days my upper arms

Leg pain post ablation
Hi folks, does anyone have any experience/ knowledge of leg pain post ablation? Had op in May for 18% ectopics, excellent results, hardly any remaining after 5 or 6 zaps in rt ventricle. Felt amazing for 2 weeks, then after walk, had severe muscle pain in right thigh, near puncture site. Week later

Root Canal Treatment - Oral health & AF
This is really a follow up on my post a month ago about 5 hours of AF in which I casually mentioned I had toothache. It is well known that there is a relationship between oral health and heart health and it is suspected that poor oral health affects Arrythmias. The first dentist I saw took x-ray

Hi guys, I had an elective section 6 months ago (first baby) and since I’ve been experiencing lots of endo symptoms.
