Apologies in advance for the long post After a bit of a battle with Rheumatology I had a Pet scan back in February that was suggestive of mild PMR They had previously diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia at the age of 51 as I was far to young for PMR and my blood work was unremarkable I was given 15mg of Pred

Advice on increasing Pred for breathlessness and persistent cough
My GP told me that breathlessness is a symptom of PMR, so I can't seek her advice on how to manage this cough etc. Some people are saying that Eris Covid is around and it presents as a bad cough which does not show up as positive on home covid testing kits. I have had a persistent productive cough

Alternative to ibuprofen
I'm 6 months post sct but my platelets are taking a long time to recover( only c40) so I'm not allowed ibuprofen or aspirin. I use paracetamol for most pain however I sometimes get muscle spasms in my neck/shoulder which I found ibuprofen treated. Does anyone know of an alternative painkiller that

ibuprofen gel
Currently unable to contact a pharmacist or doctor. Does anyone know of a topical pain killer gel I can take whilst on anticoagulants? Apparently, ibuprofen gel is a no-no. Thanks Thanks everyone, pharmacist confirmed I can use Deep Heat, Heat Patches and or, paracetamol.

Waking from sleep with upper abdominal pain for hours at a time
Does anyone have experience of this? Any advice very welcome. I wake from sleep with a slight discomfort, it builds and builds until I have to stand up very straight just to get a tiny bit of relief. Crouching and slow shuffling around also helps very slightly but sitting or lying down is excruciating

nearly there
After nearly 10 years of prednisolone I am down to daily dose 0.5mg,/ 0.5mg /zero (recurring). I am feeling fairly tired most days and on bad days I have joint pain, slight nausea which is cured by two paracetamol and going back to bed. I am unsure if I should keep going and my system will eventually

I had to call 111 at 12:30 this morning, I've got a stabbing pain from my left hand side jaw all the way to my shoulder. Sinus pain
I am asking on behalf of my sister she has been suffering with pain in the area under her left eye since 2019. It just started with no reason. It had also gone down that side of her nose. She takes paracetamol regularly to dull the pain. She had previously been to the doctors who couldn't help. So
