I’m on 87.5mcg levo for now (have been prescribed 100mcg, but am increasing slowly) and I plan to test again in another couple of weeks with MMH to see how my levels are doing. Over the past two weeks I’ve felt really well and have been out and about more - walking, shopping, out for coffee (only ever

Diagnosis Anterior Cutaneous Nerve entrapment syndrome?
I had my ovaries removed in February 2020 via laparoscopy. I had had laparascopic diathermy and laser treatment for endometriosis in my 20s and 30s, but eventually taking the progesterone only pill meant I had no periods at all which was a massive result for me and I took them until I was 52. Unfortunately

Tramadol,I have been on them for years,to be perfectly honest the body gets used to them and I have to top up with paracetamol. I am disabled but will neve4 give in,they tell me I shouldn't be walking but I do my best to prove them wrong,I'm losing the battle now,but again it's been worth it.

Will make sure I pick my feet up in future!! Just wanting some pain relief but don't Want it to interfere with T3 especially

Do I have PMR or not: that is the question?
Hello All My first post. I have update my profile with the history since first diagnosed in August 2021, I will try to avoid to much repetition. In essence the Consultant says I do not have PMR as my Inflammation markers are within range. I am experiencing pain/stiffness in my shoulders throughout

Now negative for Covid, is it okay to go back to last Prep dose immediately (7 days Sick Day Rule of 10mg extra)and when to restart taper?
I had Covid last week so followed Sick Day Rule of upping my 10mg Pred dose to 20mg (took 2nd 10mg in evening for 7 days). Tested negative today and feel much better, just a little bit coldy still. It wasn't a severe attack by any means (I'd actually had my Covid spring booster jab in late May so was

Lethargy!
Hi, after 5 & a half years, I have been off prednisolone for around 2 months now. Yes, I am experiencing aches & pains but not the same as I had at the beginning of my PMR/GCA journey…old age at 75 I guess & nothing that paracetamol won’t cure! But what is really getting me down is lack of energy & motivation

Stomach vein
I was moved to Canada blind, for my husbands job, and didn’t cope well at all. I had a psychotic episode and ended up taking paracetamol, something I said I’d never ever do. The doctor didn’t give me the antidote even though I was critical ahd there at four hours. I regret so deeply what I did. It’s

Tips for Circumcision
These are just some handy tips from what I have been through and I thought to share them as many have helped me and gave me advice. It’s a long read but hopefully it’s helpful. There can be a lot of uncertainty and impatience over the first 10 days or so but it’s really helpful to find someone to talk

what kind of specialist do I need? Likely PRD after pelvic radiotherapy!
finished chemoradiotherapy 7 weeks ago (for vaginal cancer). Developed severe pain in the bowel/rectum, which feels a bit like labour pain/period pain in the back. It’s constant and I’m taking naproxen and paracetamol daily. It’s getting worse and it’s accompanied by an awful shaky, weak feeling whereby

Arthritis
I have had Arthritis for many years, but lately it has got worse, particularly my hands. I take 8 Paracetamol a day, and Voltarol Max, to have instant help. I have asked my GP if there is anything different to try, the answer was no.

PMR Relapse after operation?
I previously had PMR and took prednisolone between September 2018 and July 2021. I have not had to take prednisolone since July 2021. I was basically affected round the hips/lumbar region. I have in the last 15 months had 3 operations for lumbar decompression, the last one on the 14 June 2024. I was

Isosorbide mononitrate headache pain relief
Is there anything stronger for pain relief of headaches from isosorbide mononitrate? I’ve tried aspirin and paracetamol, but they haven’t helped much. Just wondering whether it is worth contacting specialist or not. I have very limited energy and don’t want to put myself through the hassle of phone

what now failed R223
‘what now’ failed R223 My husband this week because of low Hb 83 had a blood transfusion + iron infusion. He has suffered ‘Proctitis’ rectal bleeding since having radiotherapy 2019 and although complaining to Oncologist, GP, Gastroenterologist had endoscopy (found Barrett’s disease and has difficulty

Pain in foot?
I have had GCA for 18 months now ,& am tapering my Pred - I'm down to 5.5mg now & am doing ok. Could anyone tell me if pain in the feet is related to PMR? For the last 2 days - when resting in the evening- I have had the most excruciating, debilitating pain in one of my feet. All I can describe it as

I have not written on the form for a while but would like your thoughts on the following: On Sunday night and all day Monday I had chest pain especially when breathing in, and both shoulders and upper back were sore. It was still very painful on Tuesday so I phoned GP and was told as it was chest pains

Cocodamol
Hi there,I had a heart attack (congested arteries) and a stent fitted last year. On the usual cocktail of meds. My back has started playing up and at night I find that if I take two OTC cocodamol it can help me sleep. Is this permitted? I know I can't take NSAIDs but not sure about cocodamol. Paracetamol
