I have had Arthritis for many years, but lately it has got worse, particularly my hands. I take 8 Paracetamol a day, and Voltarol Max, to have instant help. I have asked my GP if there is anything different to try, the answer was no.

Although I am. A half pint full kind of person, this is now getting me down, because it is on top of other conditions I have. I hope some one out there can help, I have tried all these so called glove help, and other gels , but nothing is any good. Thank You.

I’m very fortunate that my doc has an additional degree in pain management. I’ve had arthritis for some twenty years and ten years ago had a mastectomy for breast cancer. The follow-up medication for this is known to cause muscle and joint pain and my doc put me on a variety of different prescription medications, two months at a time, to see what would work. We finished with Butec (look it up). I supplement this with CoCodamol, prescribed, and I buy ibuprofen. these I only take it in the middle of the night when I can’t get back to sleep with the pain. I’m fine during the day. I only take a half dose of these.

Surely your doc could at least prescribe CoCodamol? Careful though as it gives constipation!

The other thing I do is exercise: 10000 paces a day (walking and generally getting around) plus ten minutes on utube with Joe Wicks for Seniors (look this up on utube). Your joints need your muscles to be strong.
