Am in early diagnosis of maybe having fibromyalgia. I have a review next week with the physiotherapy and also the pain clinic. When it was first checked with blood tests my infection markers were slightly raised. Am in so much widespread pain, stiffness. Currently only taking paracetamol for the pain, which at times isn't enough. Why am I in this much pain.

Hi and a warm welcome. You can find general information on fibromyalgia at our website fmauk.org and our patient information booklets at fmauk.org/publications
Fibromyalgia causes disordered pain processing - so the pain signals are sent out where there is no reason for pain, or turns up the intensity dial.
Hello, well there's the million dollar question we all ask ourselves! Well done on the pain clinic appointment and physio - that's excellent. It's not easy getting these appointments. This is only my opinion, but sadly, I don't think medical science really understand why we are in so much pain either. They just have this list of stuff to try in the hope that one of them helps! Often it's a combination which makes it even harder. Sorry not to have a more black and white answer for you and wish you well with your appointments. I'm of the opinion, most things are worth a try! Hello!
I have recently been diagnosed, so I understand your anxiety. Don’t worry though! I’ve noticed that sometimes when there are flares, my markers go high on my blood tests as well. Last time it happened to me, it was because of anxiety and being dehydrated!
If you need anyone to talk to or vent I am here! Having a support system is really important to help us get through our conditions and have healthy minds
