Post transplant weight
Hi I had a liver transplant 3 years ago. It was complex but during my long hospital stay I lost nearly 4 st. Since then I have gradually put on weight and I am almost at my pretransplant weight-16st. I am fairly immobile due to a post transplant stroke so I am only mobile via scooter or short walking

My Little Story, of the UK and France
Hello peeps, long story short!! I was being cared for by very professional Doctors at Southampton General Hospital, many tests etc we've all been there, in the end I was advised due to the lack of Donors it would be a 50/50 chance of getting a transplant in time, and as I was not at that time ill enough

What a year - and some good news to end it
Hi all, Thought I would share some positive news from me after a pretty crazy year - if nothing else to get my head around it. Back in January I was diagnosed with ET, then MF (despite having no fibrosis but I didn’t realise this made no sense at the time) and then imminent AML (despite having no

Is it normal???? 🤔
OK so I'm coming up to my 2 year lungaversary! I had a single lung transplant and my other lung completely removed. I am suffering extreme pain in both sides today to the point it has brought tears to my eyes. I want to know if this sort of pain is normal so long after a transplant?

Lung Transplant outcomes differences between Transplant Centers
Hello I would like to ask if when being referred for transplant did the respiratory consultant offer a choice in the transplant center. The reason I ask is there appear to be large differences in transplant outcomes particularly 5 and 10 year survival rates between centers. I was researching on the NHS

Pain, pain go away!
I'm in pain already from going to "school" i called the clinic where I go to for my treatment. I go to dialysis 3 times a week for 3-4 hours or so. Then I had a pneumonia shot making it even worse. I'm in so much pain both arms. Sometimes I'm thinking how long I could still hold on this challenging trials

I'm getting there!
The district nurse called today to change my dressings .I'm just over 2 months post liver transplant now and my op wounds have been stubborn to heal. There has only been a tiny amount of bleeding under the dressings this time so I'm nearly there. I'm hoping that when she comes again on Friday that I

This is a repost from an anonymous patient on another liver ailment forum. Never heard of getting my MELD score.
Hi all, read the post below from an anonymous patient on another forum. I've never heard of a MELD score. Anyone else had one done? Should I be asking my GI about this?? Thanks, Stella (Fatty liver is a normal part of aging. High triglycerides, alcohol use, medications - all of this adds up over time

Liver disease
Fatty liver is a normal part of aging. High triglycerides, alcohol use, medications - all of this adds up over time to affect the liver. After a trip to ER and admitted for pancreatitis, I learned about my liver. Ignorance and "normal lab results" combined to leave me shocked to find stage 4 liver fibrosis

It's back.
First, the good news: The results of my 1 year post surgery colonoscopy show no colon cancer. Unfortunately, the results of my 1 year post surgery contrasting CT scan show that the ovarian cancer has recurred. I’m somewhere between relieved and sad because now the waiting is over, but I can't find
