Creon shortage and Pancrex V 125
Hi all, I was prescribed Creon 25000 about 3 months ago. Not great difference to how I was before since taking them but I have continued. However, due to the shortage/availability of Creon I have now been given Pancrex V 125 mg because that's all the pharmacy can obtain. Pancrex is 8 x weaker than Creon

liver transplant in August 2021
My age is 46 I had a liver transplant in August 2021, but since the liver transplant, my health has not been going well, which means I have been experiencing pain in the whole body. Itching on the body which is cured by taking medicine. Abdominal swelling and a little more walking can increase severe

Newby 😀
Hello, I'm new and have no idea how to start this without sounding negative. I was diagnosed with cirrhosis 4 years ago (I'm 32) I'm sober for over a year and a half now. I've been from recompensed to looking at a liver transplant assessment which I got declined from as I was too well and had to give

Deciding on dialysis vs. deceased kidney transplant at 76 years old
I will attain 76 years in August, 2024. I have been on hemodialysis since early May 2024. At one point I was eligible for only a living kidney. Now it looks like the transplant center will approve my placement on an urgent protocol so I can wait 3 years for a deceased kidney. I could live 10years

Transplanted liver now in trouble?
Hi All My husband had a liver transplant in 2017 and has been mostly well since. He had NASH cirrhosis and liver cancer. He had a set of bloods on Monday unrelated to his liver but his liver function was tested. We were called the next day as ther were some surprising results which have worried him

One year, one month post transplant
Hello. I post sometimes but apparently have not “officially” introduced myself. I received a deceased donor kidney transplant on June 11, 2023. I was incredibly lucky. I begged my family and friends to donate to me, but they all refused except one friend who got tested and his function was not good enough

Hi Everyone, I am a 42 year old man and I had a kidney transplant 1 year ago.
Hi, as stated above I had a kidney transplant last year. It has been very successful. Having said that I do have some anxiety because I have been drinking quite a lot of black tea this past couple of months. Stopped drinking it early part of the week. I am having irregular heart beats and some dizzy

working out / personal trainer
I'm 14 and half months post kidney transplant and my new kidney is in the right lower quadrant. I am going to start working out with a personal trainer. I wondered if anyone else has had work with a trainer and are there exercises to stay away from during this time? I was thinking like "crunches"

Treatment update-is SBRT missing the lesions ?
PET scan 8/21 following PSA 54.5 showed numerous bone lesions. Zytiga, prednisone, Eligard knocked PSA to <.064 until 1/23 PET showed new small lesion in left hip. Radiation 35 Gray 5/5 completed 3/15/23 with PSA drop then bounce from 0.24 to 5.9 triggered another PET on 9/6/23 which showed a new metastasis

Organ Donation for Transplant and Research
This post is talking about Organ Donation upon Death, so please take care to choose to read on further.
I recently went down to the Blood and Transplant Service Head Office in Bristol and attended a workshop on the importance of organ research. There were four of us fellow liver transplantees

Treatment Decision
I am hoping for some guidance for what to do next for my father. My father is in his early 70s, Gleason 8, PSMA and MRI last year showed no spread, but PSA was rapidly raising. He had an organ transplant years ago, and a small stroke, takes anti seizure medications, and has a walking disability due

Hello from Chom 🐕
Chom turned 9 on June 17th. He was adopted from a shelter when he was just one. Abandoned in a flat to fend for himself with a few other dogs it took almost a week for them to be found and rescued. Two of the dogs did not survive. He was the smallest dog that made it. Initially he was a bag of nerves

Doctors perform kidney transplant on awake patient
Doctors at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago have performed a kidney transplant on a patient who was awake the whole time. They say the technique used updated anesthesia methods which may now be used for more patients who would be considered too risky to go fully under, which is the standard
