hi, I live in Australia, our son who turns 40 soon was diagnosed with kidney disease stage 4, 8 years ago, he was on dialysis for 5 and a half years and finally was given a kidney transplant, that was 2 and a half years ago, he has just been diagnosed with C3G, currently still in hospital, in Australia

Was in hospital may 24 with stomach pain and slight jaundice had to have ascetic drain it turned out I have decompensated liver cirhosis with moderate ascites, on discharge they have given me around 2 years to live no hope of liver transplant i am a year into that body aches all the time get tired easily

And finally, we need to align incentives for transplant hospitals and physicians to accept and transplant hard-to-place organs.

Hello fellow CKD warriors, but especially those who have been evaluated to get on the kidney transplant waiting list? May I ask how many visits did you have to make to the transplant centers to finally get on the list? I'm curious because I just had Day 1 of my first evaluation this week.

I just read a post that alarmed me a little - it said that your lungs have to be in good working order to be a considered for a liver transplant. This got me thinking that as I have COPD, and if I need a liver transplant in the future, would this eliminate me from the list?

At 9 months old, he needed a liver transplant. Post-surgery, his SGPT/SGOT levels shot up to 2000, and doctors feared his body was rejecting the liver. They had little hope. But by God’s grace, within a few days, his levels stabilized.

[/i] [i]I just want to share a member of my former support group who just a month or so ago received her liver . She is now facing some challenges involving rejection. Each day she faces the fear and the anxiety of what will happen. We all have daily challenges that we face.

looking for some advice I’m looking into going to Australia for a year although I’ve got so many reservations and worries to do with health care and being transplanted 3 years ago Has anyone gone abroad and can advice/ reassure me

Penn Med Transplant recipient team states that the colonoscopy has to be successful in the prep and needs to rule out colon cancer. I have a tortuous colon which interferes with the procedure to begin with.

My question to the community is should I have questioned my eligibility for a liver transplant.

[/i] For me, I am celebrating having had my liver transplant for 20 years on April 13th. I'm even having a 'birthday' party including those who have shared this long journey with me.

I’m an undergraduate senior psychology student, and I'm conducting a research study to explore the neuropsychological experiences of solid organ transplant recipients. I'm a kidney transplant recipient myself.
