By post IPF??
I had to give up the gym and getting
palliative
care
at my local hospice. As you can see everything is slowly going down hill, but such is life, I know IPF will eventually claim my life.

I was told
palliative
care
isn’t available. So little old me is doing the best I can along with carers that if I’m honest aren’t exactly doing their job but nobody seems to care. For anybody ploughing through this mind field I applaud you Jo X

Reminder from Simone
She is very ill now, after recurring bouts of aspirational pneumonia is having a spell of
palliative
care
in a hospice, going home on Monday☺. I still am a pazzamadre when I remember the way her GP and Social workers presumed her falling was due to drinking alcohol.

Checking in with an update
We have made contact with the local
palliative
care
team who will be there for us when the time is close, although I thought he would have more than the 12 months they mentioned.

Second Clinical Trial:
We met with a
palliative
care
physician yesterday, and felt re-assurred that we are doing all we can and have good questions to ask ourselves, our care providers, and information to share with our family and support systems.

Sidewhacked by Richter’s transformation twice: epilogue
R-GDP was stopped and
palliative
care
commenced. My dearest hubby passed away peacefully on 12/9/19. The wonders of modern medicine advances over the last 20 years such as autologous stem cell transplants and Ibrutinib allowed us to have many more years than we expected.

Question re calories and LCHF diet
Could someone advise whether one has to count calories on a LCHF diet. Ive lost 4lb since starting this week and don't want to stop the process- have not been counting carbs at all. Have eaten a lot but within an eight hour window. Thanks for advice!

In Hospice as of now.
Hospice
care
provide much more than
palliative
care
. One thing they provide is oxygen. Larry doesn’t need it as of now. The nurse said she would like it on site. I said OK. Forty-five minutes after she left a tank and machine were delivered. We’ll see.

Lost my mom to MSA
For that last month, she stayed at a
palliative
care
unit where the nurses were so kind, so amazing. We were there with her 24/7, even slept in her room on our inflatable sleeping mats. We gave her everything she wanted, like getting her her favorite food and drinks, playing her favorite music..

Sadly, Christmas isn't fun for everyone
What will you be eating this Christmas? Tom's been eating 900 calories a day since his bariatric surgeon gave him an intragastric balloon. Arthur can barely remember a day when he wasn't on some sort of diet. And Lizzie is still the same weight she always was, despite obsessively weighing herself every

Dad is losing his battle.
Dad is getting
palliative
care
at home. Every day he is deteriorating. New challenges. He’s breathless, low Hb, low platelets, fluids in his pleural cavity, lymph nodes are swollen, oedema, he coughs all the time. I’m besides myself with anxiety. I can’t bear to see him like that.

What is
palliative
care
and when should I ask about it? Will my doctor be offended if I want a second opinion? Please share your thoughts on these and any other topics in a comment below, I look forward to reading them.

Toothache
I do have a call into his
palliative
care
nurse but responses don’t come quick enough. Maybe just antibiotics, I’m wondering. Hopefully I get someone who has dealt with this problem. Thank you for a response ❤️ Kathy for Sam....

Palliative/Hospice Care
As of now the
care
will start out as
palliative
unless after the doctor signs off on it being hospice. That will be determined this coming week. Supposedly I will get more support if he is in hospice. What that support is I don’t know. We’ll see.

Come to end of treatment line after R223. Nothing else available.
If there is my Onc is suggesting there’s no point doing R223 and not much more that can be done apart from
palliative
care
. Surely there must be something out there? I have asked about Apalutamide and Daralutamide and been told these are variations on enzalutamide so won’t work.

My 57 Yr old Husband is terminal and I'm struggling and looking for someone who I can talk to please.
He's now been told he is terminal and is having
palliative
care
. My husband is handling it very well. He's accepted what's happening and as far as I know he's coping well. He laughs and jokes his way round things as he's always done and I admire him for that. He has a dnr in place.
