Hello everyone,

I don't post often but I do read every post.

I had my consultant appointment last week, I just got his letter where he refer my problem as Hypoxic IPF, what is hypoxy? Never heard the term, before I consult Dr Google I thought someone here would be able to explain to me what it is. Also he said I might have developed bronchiectasis and he will request a ct scan to establish the location of this, so I'm waiting.

My lung function test showed it slipped, current FEV1/FVC has gone down from 80% to 60% and the gas transfer remains at 35% predicted. Well my breathlessness is worse than ever, can't walk more than 20 paces without having to seat down and the cough and sputum are so bad now, every time I get a bout of cough I get a bad headache, I have never taken so many pain killers in my life.

I had to give up the gym and getting palliative care at my local hospice. As you can see everything is slowly going down hill, but such is life, I know IPF will eventually claim my life.

Because I don't go out that often or socialise anymore, I entertain myself by doing jigsaw puzzles, adult book painting and read books, if I didn't do these I would go mad.

Apart from my gloom, hope you all enjoy the day.

Hypoxia is a condition in which the body or a region of the body is deprived of adequate oxygen supply at the tissue level. Hypoxia may be classified as either generalized, affecting the whole body, or local, affecting a region of the body. Your heart rate may increase to compensate.

I knew you would know the answer 2greys, thank you very much, no wonder why my heart rate goes high every time I try to do something even simple things affect me.

Enjoy the rest of your day. 🤗
