AV Node Ablation update
I had been extremely nervous beforehand especially knowing that I would be reliant on my
pacemaker
. The pace and ablate procedure doesn't 'cure' AF but it does control it and I can testify that is absolutely the case.

CRT-D Pacemaker Medtronic Cobalt
Does anyone know anything about the Medtronic App to pair with the
pacemaker
please? My husband has now been given a serial number but trying to register it is proving difficult.

Dual chamber pacemaker rates setting
For those who have a Dual chamber
pacemaker
can I ask hat setting your date is at ? Mine is at 55bpm and I’m atrial pacing about 70% of the time. I’ve had a rubbish weekend feeling breathless low BP wondering if I asked if rate could be speeded up to 60bpm it may help ?

Back pain after ICD fitted.
I have a relative in their 80's who had a
pacemaker
fitted 18 months ago and didn't sleep in their bed for months, preferring to sleep in a reclining armchair, they found it too uncomfortable post -op.

Disappointing experience with cardiologist appointment today
I also had a
pacemaker
check a week ago and his explanations seemed different to information given to me at the clinic. I check my oxygen levels and heart rate on an oximeter and was told not to take any notice of the readings.

AF and heredity?
I have 4 children and both the oldest (36) and the youngest (26) have low resting heart rates as did I before getting my
pacemaker
. I haven't posted for some time as I'm glad to say I've been in SR since Nov 2020 but I do read posts most days.

But, is a
pacemaker
an option? If you have a
pacemaker
can you get off the Tikosyn and Diltiazem?

Low Heart Rate of 32 again
These episodes have been going on for over 2 years now but it's becoming a daily thing, the cardiologist has stated i may need a
pacemaker
if my HR is still low after stoppong bisoprolol back in March. I just want some conclusion to it all so I can move on and try to get some routine again.

Eight and a half weeks post ablation
They set me up for a manual
pacemaker
while I slept as I was unsure what was going to happen. I made sure to drink lots of water to clear the amiodarone out of my system overnight and it returned to some normality.

To do it or not to do it? Ablation and other things.
OK since I can actually still walk, albeit not very comfortably, it does not normally keep me awake at nights and in any case my forthcoming
pacemaker
trumps everything else I have decided to wait and see.

Have come to conclusion it is just a test to see if

Driving after a pacemaker
Hello everyone, I had a
pacemaker
fitted three weeks ago. If you have one too, how long did you (have to) wait before driving again? At my pre-op assessment I was told not to drive for a month (off the record the nurse said two weeks would be enough).

Can I drink Alcohol?
It’s like I had an av node ablation. 100%
pacemaker
dependent I take metoperal 50 twice a day heart is purring around 70 and have no tachycardia but get out of breath after walking briskly because chambers are out of sync. When I stop it drops right back to 70.

Heart rate going be over 130 on exertion causing me to feel unwell
I feel ok until my heart goes over 130 then I start to feel very strong palpitations, dizziness and get so out of breath which are the symptoms I was having before having my
pacemaker
. That’s happened twice now . I’m on 5mg bisoprolol which helped to keep my heart below 130 for a while .

When is bradycardia afib?
The cardiologist sent me immediately for a
pacemaker
to be fitted. It has just 1 wire and should maintain a minimum heart rate of 60bpm. The warfarin was changed to a more modern anti-collagulant Eliquis 5mg twice daily. OK it means that I don't have to have regular blood checks with that.
