Blood Pressure Monitoring while having a Pacemaker
Hi, Could anyone tell me if it's okay to use a wrist blood pressure monitor if you have got a
Pacemaker
, and are the results still accurate.

Hi,Havent posted for a few months after my af took a sudden downturn. It was quite a puzzle because I could go 2/3 weeks with no problem then my heart would go haywire for 2/3 days then quiet again. My EP said in late July we will leave it a couple of months see how you go. He thought a PM was the way

Pacemaker decision
Well, I saw my EP today and discussed with him my fears about having a pace and ablate. Basically he said it is all about what is best for my quality of life, and which ever option I choose will not help me to live longer, but perhaps live better. My AF episodes have become more frequent and are

Pacemaker Update
It’s now 2 weeks since the implant and I am feeling really, really well - probably the best I have ever felt in the last 10 years. The wound was incredibly neat - 8 clips to hold it together removed after 7 days - it has healed clean and even at this early stage difficult to see. You can just about

Cardiac Ablation
Cardiologist told me that what they would normally do would be to fit a
pacemaker
, but as I'm 31 the lifespan of a
pacemaker
would mean it would have to be replaced 1-3 times in my life.

AF and Pacemaker
I have AF diagnosed 3 Years ago , last year I had complete heart block and had a
pacemaker
fitted. I had 3 days where I had long periods of AF should my
pacemaker
have kicked in? I know it regulates my HB when it is too fast but how about when it goes slow. Glad to know any one else’s experiences

Not all
pacemaker
implanted systems meet the criteria for a MR conditional device. We work closely with the MR responsible person and MR Cardiologist to manage referrals for MR for patients with implanted cardiac devices.

Pace & ablate experiences
If they destroy the AV node so you are slave to the
pacemaker
how is it that the heart is still irregular? As this procedure is a permanent treatment I have to get my decision right. I have read that if the heart is paced long term this leads to heart failure. Has anyone seen this study report?

Cardioversion
Following this, I am having a bi-ventricular
pacemaker
and if necessary AV node ablation through
pacemaker
. Apart from AF I have left ventricular failure ( heart failure)and left Atria impairment,. Also asthma, iron deficiency, and hypothyroidism.

Update - one year after pace and ablate
Various failed cardioversions and ablations later and unable to control it with medication, he had a CRT-P (biventricular
pacemaker
) implanted a year ago today. He had the AV node ablated in January 2018.

Pace and ablate interval
I know there is about a six week interval between the
pacemaker
being inserted and the ablation of the AV node, so is the
pacemaker
on and working during this time, or not working until the ablate part?
