I had pacemaker fitted 4 days ago after emergency admission for total heart block. I’m at home but feeling my heart fluttering occasionally. Is this normal to feel something happening?

My research suggests that leadless is a better and safer alternative to a wired pacemaker.

Recently had a pacemaker fitted to help with low heart rate, also Atrial Fibrillation and waiting to see if I need medication to lower heart rate.

Now the next step will be a permanent pacemaker. Has anyone had the diagnosis and if yes how is it with a pacemaker. Did it improve your quality of life. 59 years old and Living in Canada. Thank you kindly!😊

Hi - I had a pacemaker put in July 2024 to prevent pauses in my heart. The pauses mostly occurred when was asleep and were very irregularly and infrequent. For instance, when I had my six week check up, the pacemaker had not been triggered during that time.

Long waiting list so I went to see Private cardiologist who has recommended pacemaker followed by node ablation. I’ve been doing a lot of reading and cannot quite understand why a pacemaker is going to help my AF. far as I can understand my heart will still be in AF.?
