Soon to receive a pacemaker and AV node ablation
I don't quite understand why some people just get the
pacemaker
and others need the ablation too? Also, approx how long between the two procedures and why the wait? Thanks in advance đ

My cousin just had pacemaker fitted
I know a
pacemaker
will likely be my next step at some stage in the future so good to hear he feels so much better and how easy this all went.

Very Strange - donât try this at home.!
I zapped myself, sat back in shock thinking what have I done to myself and my
pacemaker
? âŠ. Then I realised my PAF had resolved in a split second. Coincidental probably ⊠and I wonât be trying this againâŠ

The Story So Far
Pacemaker
. 3. A further procedure which was described as âgoing up through the diaphragmâ. I assume this to be external Maze? AF really does rule your life. Fit as a fiddle one minute but feel quite unwell the next. I am keen to learn of anyone who has been down a similar route.

ï»żUpdate on magnesium supplement for missed beats.
Cardiology put me on a Holter and told me I had sinus node disease and second degree heart block and inserted a
pacemaker
to stop bpm going too low whilst asleep. ï»żThey said the missed beats (11%) were nothing to worry about, they could give me tablets to try and stop it if it made me anxious.

Treatment Resistant Major Depressive Disorder: I am proof that there is hope.
I have constant electrical pulses sent to those two sections of my brain (controlled by a
pacemaker
) and I am disease free overnight. I post this here to let you know THERE IS HOPE. I know it doesnât feel like it. I am very lucky to be alive. But I kept grasping at straws.

ï»żPace and Ablate
It took less than a minute to ablate the node and then there was a wait while they do the
pacemaker
tests and make sure they've got all the cells ablated. I didn't feel a thing. Not much sedation needed apparently for such a short procedure. I've not had any bleeding in my groin.

Almost died they rushed me to the hospital popped a
pacemaker
in my heartbeat wonât drop below 60 works perfect. Thatâs the good news during a recent test they found my QTC number was elongated and they immediately took me off the Tykosyn worried that I would get SAC..

Allergic reaction to pacemaker
In some such cases a gold plated
pacemaker
was used with polyurethane coated leads rather than titanium and silicone coated leads. They are still trying to assemble all the relevant components of the
pacemaker
to patch test me but after 2 years this is still proving very difficult to achieve.

Fitbit watch
Hi my husband has just been fitted with a
pacemaker
and I was thinking of getting him a Fitbit watch (versa). Does anyone know if it is ok to wear one of these with a
Pacemaker
, I don't think the Fitbit watches have a magnet in them. Any help would be appreciated.

Aborted ablation
He won't try again, the next possibility is a
pacemaker
. What are the chances of that curing my AF?

Pacemaker..burning sensation
Pacemaker
implanted in March 2022. All went well. Minimal discomfort for 2 weeks. Approximately 2 months later, I began experiencing a burning pain on the area around it. It appears swollen. Saw two doctors who ordered several tests to check for infection. None found.
