Does anyone know anything about the Medtronic App to pair with the pacemaker please? My husband has now been given a serial number but trying to register it is proving difficult.

Hi

I use the Medtronic MyCareLink Heart app. My PM talks to the app using Bluetooth. My data is sent to the clinic according to a schedule. I also have the ability to send my data ad hoc if I have any concerns.

I was invited to use the app by my clinic instead of attending in person. The clinic or Medtronic needs to create your profile. It sounds as though you’ve made some progress. I suggest that you phone Medtronic. The representative on the other end of the line couldn’t have been more helpful.

Hi thanks for replying. My husband has tried to register on the app but it won’t let him. Does the clinic have to do something first? I will get him to ring today. Are you in the UK?

You’re welcome and yes, I’m in the UK, although my call to Medtronic put me through to the Netherlands. I believe that the clinic needs to be involved, just based on the fact that the clinic got in touch to invite me to register. My app names my clinic and the clinic pulls the data, so you would think so. I was challenged on that point once though by another pacer.

Once on the phone to Medtronic, I was good to go within minutes. The person there was brilliant.

Please check that your husband’s phone is compatible:

Please let me know how you get on, or if I can help any further.

Hi, thanks so much for your help this morning. Making the phone call was so easy and quick to get the App sorted. As you said, done in minutes and very helpful. All up and running now, thanks again.

Oh good, I told you Medtronic were brilliant! Thanks for letting me know.

Please remind your husband to keep the app open at all times. I sometimes close it down accidentally, although I do get an email prompting me to open it again.

Are you / your husband members of the Pacemaker UK Facebook group? It’s a wonderfully supportive community. Come and say, hello!

Hi, you certainly did and they certainly are good. Yes I’ve told him to leave it open but it’s good to know they contact you if it’s closed. I’m on Facebook so I can take a look, thanks again.
