Second ablation
I had my second ablation on Monday and whilst in recovery I was advised that it had failed and I would be getting a
pacemaker
in the next few weeks. I also had 6 cardioversions so am looking very sunburned across my chest. What do they mean when it failed?

Pressure on mid back causing AF to come on.
Because mefications made me unwell i was finally fitted with a
pacemaker
in prepation for AV node ablation. Once the pm was fitted i was able to forgo the node ablation.

Flecainide without Beta-Blocker
The big mystery for us is WHY the doctors are alarmed that flecainide is being used : and they either want to stop it ( after 35 years, that seems risky to us) or circumvent it by use of ablation or
pacemaker
? Hubby wants to carry on taking flecainide.

The
pacemaker
was your
pacemaker
, except duo I believe, but the wiring was not only a new type of wiring called HIS pace, bundling, but it was the way he had to do it for me. Evidently my own wiring had nothing normal about it in both upper and lower chambers among other problems.

Can heart problems be hereditary ?
I had a dream a few nights ago that one of our daughters had to go to hospital with cardiac symptoms , a few hours later I ended up in hospital too with the sane , in the dream I had a
pacemaker
as I do in real life and my daughter was asked if there was a family history of heart problems .

An Eventful January Update - Pacemaker Delayed
Had the replacement
Pacemaker
Pre-op this morning, INR was at 4.4, when the Consultant wants it at 2.5 so not a good start to proceedings. Missing a daaily dose would bring it down, but, it was never likely to be by enough.

Grade 2 LV Diastolic Dysfunction
I already have an aortic root aneurysm, Atrial Fibrillation and recently had a
Pacemaker
fitted and was born with valve disease and had replacement BAV. So, now I feel like this is just another nail in my coffin when I see the words Heart Failure and read there is no cure for HF. Very scary!

Persistant AF and non-connected surgical procedures.
I had a telephone pre-op 10 days ago and when I explained I had a
pacemaker
and was in AF the nurse said she was cancelling the procedure until after my AF review at the end of April. I'm at a loss to see what difference this will make as the rate of AF seems controlled by meds.

Pacemakers - what is your experience? The good, the bad and the ugly...
I may have to have a
pacemaker
fitted. Will I still be able to run long distance? What are the benefits and challenges you faced with your
pacemaker
... The dos and donts that May not necessarily be obvious.

Pacemaker safety alert.
I've heard that the
pacemaker
I had fitted nearly 4 years ago has received a safety alert on them and now I need a box/battery operation to replace it.Just wondering how others have recovered from a box change?

Advice From Overseas
My fear is that I end up with a
pacemaker
eventually. But maybe that happens regardless as my electrical system is obviously whacked out....

Can you spare 10 minutes of your time?
An ICD is like having your own defibrillator inside your body so if your heart should go into a specific arrhythmia the ICD will shock it back into rhythm; whereas a
pacemaker
monitors and adjusts the rhythm and speed of your heart; if it is too fast or too slow it will adjust accordingly.
