I've had 7 major back ops, have been on massive doses of OxyContin/Oxynorm ect for 18yrs but now affecting mental state, can anyone help me
The pain in back, down the leg is at it's worst. It all started 18yrs ago when I had a prolapsed disc op which went wrong. this was followed by a metal Fusion and plastic fibre discs to L3/4/5. After tense machine and a dorsal column stimulater which did not work, they decided to fit me with a Synchromed

Pain Clinic, should I ask for a 2nd opinion?
I am taking amitryptiline, gabapentin,
oxycontin
60mg bd and oxynorm for breakthrough pain. I have been to the pain clinic and have not found it helpful. In fact the consultant spread his hands and said 'I don't know what to suggest and according to my GP has intimated that he has nothing to offer.

Diabetic Neuropathy - The Journey Into Darkness
At one point, after being provided with ill-fitting and completely wrong orthotics, which I dd not know at the time were causing even more pain, my doctor put me on a generic form of
Oxycontin
, most unfortunately not warning me of the adverse side effects.

Sweating, shakiness alongside PMR problems - steroids or other cause.
- could some be related to my low dose of long-acting
oxycontin
? - I have changed from venlafaxine to nortriptyline - both can cause this as an effect when in use and on withdrawal - how much is due to this? - I am undergoing a lot of stress at present - how much is this contributing?

Any body else suffering head injuries?
have been on everything from sinemet to vicodin, mirapex to
oxycontin
and have only gotten progressively worse. i am currently taking 6- 8 mg of requip with limited success. i have had issues in the past of falling asleep on my feet, but it is becoming dangerous.

Oxycodone, be aware that is has little effect for Fibro Sufferers according to a rheumatologist.
I was told that Fibro affect the nerves and
Oxycontin
/OxyNorm has no effect on the nervous system. It may feel like the pain is in the muscles, it is just the way the body translates the pain. It took me 6 months to clear the drug from my system, coming off was terrible.

Dare I add a modicum of realism here
I was made very ill by oromorph and also
OxyContin
. I have found that changing my diet for a more healthy one and taking the few meds that agree with me much more effective .

Toe pain - it sounds so trivial but...!
They suggest NSAIDz, paracetamol etc..but unfortunately, as was also the case with my mother, they - and stronger things like co-codamol, co-dydramol, tramadol,
oxycontin
, Butrans and Fentanyl patches never touch any of my back or other arthritis problems. I may also have fibromyalgia.

Where do I go from here...?
Having always been fit/active; I am tired of the pains - I require consistently higher doses of
Oxycontin
and Oxynorm just to get through the day. I am tired of the immobility - at best I need sticks, at worst an electric power chair.

Cronic pain and learning to live with it for better or for worse
Find a pain killer that works for you and reduces the symptoms for me it is
oxycontin
up to 120mg a dose. When I take this dose I am sleepy my brain is further filled with fog. all in all pretty useless.
