Jesus! I thought I was on strong stuff with the morphine but Ketamine? Wow, didn't think they gave u that on script anymore?! Combined with an opiate too? I've never been on that combo myself but have known people 2 take it 4 various conditions & some have been totally floored & zoned, others like zombies & other totally fine, Guess it just depends on u're tolerance levels etc. I know the side effects such as dizziness, nausea can b increased with the combo but then again, it varies from person 2 person, just depends. Good luck with it & just make sure GP monitors u closely.

Whoa ditto Sher, that is a potent combination you have there. I have no personal experience of either, but I am given Pethidine shot for kidney stone pain occasionally, I call it goodnight and god bless, because 20 minutes later I am zonked for at least 12 hours plus.

Hope you are being closely monitored by your GP, Ketamine from what I have read can become additive, mentally. Good luck.

I didn't even think ketamine was legal in the UK? Sorry I can't help but I'd be interested to hear YOUR experience Stardust.

I am on 180mg of OxyContin a day but as with the others have never heard of taking ketamine I get no time pain free so if u do I would like to know more I feel really sick with the OxyContin and take anti sickness I also have quite a high drug tolerance so don't feel too drowsy

I'm at a total loss here Stardust - neither drug has anti-inflammatory properties, which is a basic requirement to control SLE. I have morphine but only as an occasional supplement to cortico-steroids. Sounds very odd to me!

When I was nursing we used Ketamine as a last resort in terminal care.... As Tigerlily4 says neither has anti-inflammatory properties. Seems a bit excessive. Can you get up and function on that dose?

That's why I was so shocked DaleDiva as like u say, the ketamine was always a LAST RESORT. I had 2 fight like Hell 2 get my morphine on script but as 4 not having any anti-inflam properties, ok, granted they don't, but as a painkiller (which I imagine is the only reason it's been scripted anyway) it CAN b an absolute blessing 2 some people (from what I've witnessed only, not from personally experience).

There r periods when I don't give a toss whether I can function or not & will quite happily just live in my bed 4 a week if need b, as long as the pain naffs off :/

I'd like 2 hear how functionable stardust56 is on it too. My pain threshold is bloody good & my tolerance level fab, with Morphine, I am perfectly fine but Tramadol turns me in2 a complete mess funnily enough so I only take that if I know I can go straight 2 bed ;)
