I’ve been doing reasonably well on 2x5mg OxyContin at night say 7pm ish and then 8 ish and a 1 mg patch of Neupro(rotigotine) every morning and minding he chocolate red wine beer flavour enchanter.

I don't know if uve watched the Documemtry/film Dopesick ....I was in shock at how bad that situation was it was awful how they treated people on Oxycontin which I had a bottle of in hospital for my knee but wasn't takin bupromorphine whilst in hospital .

Is it possible that my daytime depression is caused by mini daily withdrawals from OxyContin.? Has anyone else experienced this? Should I consider switching opioids to a longer acting one?

My orthopedic surgeon told me OxyContin would be ok for pain for a couple of weeks. I knew Tramadol wouldn’t suffice for pain. The Oxy has helped a lot. I couldn’t find anywhere on GOOGLE that said it was ok for a short period, but I had to have a knee. Anybody have experience with this?

After taking Mirapex, Gabapentin, OxyContin, Methadone, and Horizant, I am desperate for alternatives. The poster lives in CA as do I. I am unable to locate the post via searching and am hopeful that person can reappear for additional conversation. Thank you

Is it codeine or one of the Oxycontin type drugs (which scare me). One last thing is I am having 2 side effects on tramadol which I am managing ok and that's an increase in anxiety, especially in the morning waking up and skin itching. Any suggestions with that?

I taper off oxycontin in 10 days after 2 years no problem Etorcoxib- good lord, it's an arthritis med..extreme pain that night Amitryptallin heart pounding. feel weird targiniq- I couldn't wake up.. slept most of the day Gabapentin- while tapering oxycontin. caused suicidal thoughts. scary Sativex

Have any of you lovely people had success on a higher dose of oxycontin? If so how high? Simkin

Maybe I would be better to stick to 1,500 gabapentin & 10mg oxycontin & just bear with .....

Pain management put him on OxyContin and back braces. Meanwhile his job was trying to get him fired. He had been in the hospital several times because of these problems. During this period his brother passed away and shortly thereafter his mother developed liver cancer.

Am speaking to my GP today.Before I do I would like to know if I can switch straight from 10mg oxycontin long release over to buprenorphine or do I have to do that very gradually?? Do Joolsg or Sue or anyone else know??

My GP did warn me I "might" feel drugged on oxycontin.

Jules I sent my GP all the info you gave me on buprenorphine.He read all the info & was then happy (3 nights ago) to change me over from oxycontin to buprenorphine 0.4mg but cutting the tablet in half so I start on 0.2mg. So very many thanks for that.

Just to say to everyone who has kindly replied I have now read the front of the packet and I am actually on"Oxycontin 10mg prolonged release tablets Oxycodone hydrochloride" AND on the packet it also says "Take every 12 hours"

My doctor says he is not averse to me moving to buprenorphine from oxycontin once he has checked everything out, so he is going to read the Mayo Clinic report etc that you recommended.However on looking up buprenorphine he can only find patches (you all say not successful) or 2mg tablets which he says

Am SO upset that after 4 months on 10mg oxycontin long release & 1,500 gabapentin I really thought my rls had gone.But am now going crazy again in the night and am SO TIRED. Should I first go back to taking magnesium again? And if so how much?

But ......when I learn from people's posts, that I will need a "[i]low dose opioid[/i]" or a "[i]strong painkiller like tramadol or [/i][i]"[/i], I wonder what this [i]"pain"[/i] is ? Where does the pain manifest itself? Can anyone tell me please?
