ENT doctor said I have “terrible” TMJ
Due to my constant worry about GCA I saw an ENT doc for my TMJ which I have had for 30 years. I have always had locking, clicking, crackling, but for the past month I hear the crunching/ crackling while chewing. It is not painful to chew nor do I get tired of chewing. When I open and close my mouth he

This has sadly been my experience of the nhs for the past 4 years , and hey the nhs has won. They don’t need to diagnose me anymore , no need to treat whatever it is, nothing, they have achieved their goal in my case. Because I have given up on them , and what will be will be . Weeeeeeeee. Anybody else

Unknown cause
So I've had some really strange symptoms occur over the past 6 weeks and I don't know whether they're neurological or caused by something ear related. Saw an ear specialist who could see no perforation and hearing tests all came back but these are my symptoms and wondering if anyone has experienced anything

Did anyone suffer from Anisocoria as a result of their brain injury?
I was assaulted and robbed at the end of December, which resulted in a subarachnoid heamoraage. About 6 weeks after the initial injury I had a really bad day, couldn't focus at all, really dizzy and extreme nausea. I looked in the mirror and one of my pupils was dilated quite a bit more than the other

Podcast - A world without tinnitus
I'm a bit worried that in the last thread, I might have given the impression a cure was just around the corner, but what I was referring to was a discussion that BTA Chief Executive David Stockdale had with our friends at Tinnitus Talk, discussing the possibility of a world without tinnitus. I found

If tinnitus is through hearing loss how can stress make it worse?
I’ve just had a private hearing test and my hearing loss in my left ear is severe and moderate loss in my right ear, which is causing my t to get worse over the years. If there’s something physically wrong with my ear why would stress make it worse? It’s such a complicated thing, but I’ve always felt

Vertigo
I've been suffering with intermittent horrendous spells of vertigo for 14 months now. The worst episodes come on in the middle of the night. I am ok when I go to bed but wake up around 3am with everything spinning, vomit over and over, sometimes diarrhoea as well. I have no sense of balance at all for

Advice to avoid Lupus flare after surgery please
Hi Everyone, I am due to have a hearing implant fitted in my head/skull next week. I will be put to sleep during the surgery and I'll be able to go home on the same day as I am a daycase, so we aren't talking major surgery here!! But still, it doesn't take much to trigger a Lupus flare as we know!! So

Withdrawing from pitzotifen- anyone with experience ?
Hi everyone! My names is Becky and I’ve had migraine associated vertigo for the last 5 years. With the help of Botox I’m now decreasing pitzotifen and I’m down to one tablet. With the help of my doctor I’ve been cutting my dose by 1/4 every two weeks. However, she is very happy for me to do it as fast

Still fighting mouthsores
After one year on Imbruvica, I’m still battling mouthsores. I take Selunium and Folic Acid (both dr recommend), use a salt water rinse, have tried a couple strong antibiotics including Diflucan. Have also tried oil of oregano without success and this week was prescribed Gelclair. No relief. They last

Horizant vs Nuerontin
My new insurance won't cover Horizant. Because it's Gabapentin in an extended release. At least that was how it was explained to me. So I gotta go back to Gabapentin. When I was last on Gaba I was at 3600 mg a day. Horizant is only 1200 mgs a day and it works so much better. My PCP is who is controlling
