Has anyone had the op for deadening the eardrum (Was on offer years ago)
Hi all Perhaps this should end up in the General tinnitus box. Many moons ago I was offered an operation to null my eardrum, I was told (from memory) that it completely takes away the noise. I think you will never hear again from that ear, but no more T. I'm not sure if it is still done, but my concern

White nails still worried.
I recently got white nails and posted about this before. My liver blood values are good and my doctor tells me not to worry. But they are still very white. I'm more and more concerned now. I also suffer from a depression. However, my doctor sees no reason to send me for further examination. I drank

Newbie from USA
Hi from Plymouth, MA,USA! I've been following this site for awhile and joined today. I came down with tinnitus 5 years ago after a sudden viral ear infection, with a minor hearing loss in my left ear. I don't have to tell anyone what it's like to suffer with this. Mine is a high pitched, searing laser-like

EARS BLOCKED WITH WAX AGAIN! Tinnitus Agony, why does this keep happening? Total Despair
Over a year ago I had blocked ear wax in both ears had them suctioned , left ear in a lot of pain and Tinnitus as a result... now only a year later my left ear is BLOCKED again ,terrible tinnitus, not completely deaf but muffled, I DARE not put anything else in that ear. Was told the NHS doesn't do syringing

Nasty side effects from Betahistine - is this normal?
Hi I’ve been put on 3 x 16mg tablets of betahistine for endolymphatic hydrops (severe ear pressure, also had unilateral tinnitus for years) and started taking them last Friday. I’ve been suffering from quite debilitating drowsiness (with some funny thoughts popping into my head!) and absolutely splitting

Acupuncture success anyone?
Hi all, has anyone benefitted from acupuncture? I had my first session last week, mostly on one especially painful arm and one leg. I know we obviously hurt all over, but I'm starting small. 🙄 I had bad headaches and nausea that evening, but prepared to do a 6 week course if it will help?

New to this!
Hi. Just over a week ago I was admitted to hospital with an episode of AF that was treated with iv beta blockers to return my heart to a sinus rhythm. I had never experienced anything like this before or so I thought . It woke me up. I am a 56 year old female, relatively fit. I walk 2-3 miles each

Hearing loss
Has any of you out there been given hearing aids for your ataxia related hearing loss? I was told by one ent doc that I would benefit from them, I was told by another that I wouldn't.

FAQ POST…..IS MY HEART RATE TOO HIGH?

Nortriptyline
Hi everyone just wondering how long side effects last when starting this medication? I started nortriptyline 4 days ago and I’m feeling really light headed dizzy not really “there” as such. It’s such a horrible feeling! Please tell me if this is a normal “adjusting” period and how long I’m in for or

Hearing aids with sensoneurial hearing loss
I have tinnitus and slight hearing loss due to cotton bud incident pushed into ear with force. I am told I have sensoneurial hearing loss. I have behind the ear hearing aids from the NHS. Are these the only hearing aids I can have ? I also am waiting for a perforated ear drum to be repaired Please

Strange tinnitus noice
Hi all. I am new here. I am a tinnitus sufferer for the last 15 years. The whole thing started after a bout of ear infections and loss of some of my hearing. To start with it was a low level pulsatile tinnitus, which I got used to rather quickly and it didn’t really bother me much over the years. However

Nebivolol timing and low blood pressure
I take 2.5mg Nebivolol and 200mg Flecainide daily, taking the Nebivolol in the mornings. I have low normal BP but recently have had readings in the 80/50 range which make me feel pretty bad. I drink water and keep my salt level up but every day down it goes about 2 hours after I take the Nebivolol

My Menieres Experience
I have been diagnosed with Menieres for just over a year now & have been on 24mg of betahistine & 2.5 mg of bendroflumethiazide which was working really well. I tried dropping to 16mg of betahistine but after 5 days had a severe attack of rotational vertigo & vomiting so the higher dose worked well
