I'm new here. I'm looking for tips on how to manage a stoma. What bedding do we use ? Which bag to use if skin is sensitive. Thank you.

Well there we were driving down to collect our caravan for a nice weekend away to celebrate my 60th ( thank god I made it). I suddenly got some stomach pains which is unusual but thought it will pass when my Stoma literally exploded!! The bag was forced off and there was a terrible smell and for those

The beast is back but we have a plan and I asked about why OC recurs so often as I promised I would x
CT has shown ‘cling film’ like tumour over a part of my bowel, I had a stoma during surgery and it’s still working ok but my Ca125 has risen again from a couple of weeks ago Onc said no tumours in any organs, bones or infiltrating bowels and no ascites (phew) and had my daughter, sister and I in stitches

wanting to work when you have lupus
I am long term unemployed getting ESA and in the support group. I worry that when I have to change to UC that I will be declared fit for work and would like to find something I could do before that happens. I find the stress of trying to convince people I have health problems is affecting my health and

Mucus as bad as Diarrhea.
I had surgery for permanent colostomy / stoma and I get lots of mucus from my butt. It comes as quickly and unannounced as diarrhea did before. I'm cancer free and because of this, I don't have the severe diarrhea of the past under radiation. Tracking it without sampling, I probably get nearly 4-6 fluid

Scuba Diving
Life after my surgery. I can report that I had no problems with my ile stoma or appliances when I had my first dive in Lanzarote yesterday. I did have a problem with the first Dive Adventure business though who said because I had ileostomy I would not be able to dive. Full stop. Sorry. Like there was

Stoma babies
Hi Everyone, This is my first post. I wanted to ask if anyone has had a baby with a stoma/anorectal malformation? Our 4 month old baby boy is coming up to his second operation, having had the first at 1 day old, and I'd love to talk to other families who have been/are going through a similar journey

Things have not been great ....
I have spent the last week in Whipps X , my local in East London , fighting a very nasty fever . Investigated every bit of my body and liased admirably with team at UCH . Fever under control , bowels only just , so probably infection / inflamation coming from bowel and pelvis area .... In the process

Compression garment with a stoma?
I've developed Lymphedema after bladder and 28 lymphnodes removed recently. My certified lymphedema therapist had me get a capri type compression garment that goes from the waist to below the knees. I don't feel good about covering my stoma and pouch with the tight garment, fearing it could slow or stop

Time for a much needed giggle..
Hi lovely people I thought I’d give you a bit of a giggle and tell you about my morning... I finally plucked up the courage to go to a shopping centre by myself.. I’ve been finding it tough after major surgery resulting in a stoma... I decided to wear one of my wigs for a change. Well as I left my house
