Hi I had my Stoma done 14 months ago and occasionally my output is green even though I drink plenty! I do get plenty of tummy ache! I’m in control of what I eat so can’t understand it? Any answers please?

I wouldn't worry about the colour too much unless its bloody consistently. I mean everyone is different but get a whole range of colours. Brown, dark brown, green, mustard. Mine depends on what i eat or drink at certain parts of the day.

My output also varies in color regularly. I understand that’s normal for an ileostomy. Like Ktappern said, red’s the only color to really watch for; then think back to see if you ate anything red recently before you panic.

The reason I asked about the colour in the first place I won’t say who but I was told if my output was green it was because I wasn’t drinking and eating enough! Being a chef and done a 2 year nutrition course I have been careful what I eat maybe too careful at the beginning! But I learned you can eat most things as long as chewed and you are careful. So thanks for your reply’s it’s just a load of ##.Vicky
