The sore area is the hole where it joins the bag, it tends to be very sore with loose stools. I cannot use cream as the area has to be dry to attach bag. Just wondered if anyone had any tips.

Is your stoma output always liquid? First thing that helped me was using a small manuka honey disk that fits tightly around the stoma. Manuka honey is very good for the skin. As for creams, my stoma nurses frown upon it but dont mind me using it is actually Savlon. I use it when my skin gets irritated after shaving. It feels so calming. It takes longer to rub in so i have to stand there with a tissue to try and catch any poop that may come out. I find this helps heal my skin faster than proper barrier cream. Hope this helps.

Good Evening.

Can I ask has the stoma pouch have the right size hole required? Next time you put on a new pouch before attaching the pouch using the backing plate over your stoma and look to see if it touches your stoma? If yes that will make you sore and bleed and the pouch cut will need to be cut bigger. If you have loose stalls and they go down behind the stoma that is also a trigger. (Pancaking) Your need a pouch with a smaller and softer convex to stop that problem.

Returning to the problem of your pouch as you say you cannot use a cream as it won't stick then I can assure there/ are barrier creams via a spray or gauze cloth wipe. When applied let them dry and place the pouch and they stick even better. I use the spray barrier cream daily without any problems. Ring Trio Healthcare and yes they do vets medications and also ring Clinimed ask just for samples. You can get them on repeat prescription if needed.

Good Luck keep me updated how you get on and if I can help you more?

I've always had to cut my stomach opening a bit larger to get it to fit properly. The 1" opening is too small the 1 1/4" opening is too large. Regardless I always have sore wounds

You could try Aloe Vera Stoma powder. I regularly suffer with this issue & it helps my body repair much more quickly. Just made sure you use it sparingly & you wipe away loose particles with a tissue so your bag will stick properly
