Was at oncologist on Wed after 3 weeks in hospital for bowel surgery now have a stoma she got the report from bowel that was taking out it was all dead cancer and scar tissue that caused blockage I ask if I was stable she said better than stable what does this mean I have to get a scan in 3 weeks and see her in 4 weeks xxx

I can only guess but better than stable may mean there is now no sign of cancerous growths or that they are smaller than they were. Don't forget to ask her when you see her.

Better than stable sounds reassuring... Make sure you ask for answers in your next appt. good luck xx

I would think its better than stable as it was dead tissue etc that was removed, so they are checking with scan but I would think no treatment for some time, so celebrate

Hi, As the other ladies have said it sound good, I hope the scan reinforces good news and yes do ask more question from your oncologist, she will have more answers for you arfter she has seen the scan. I hope all goes well take care Lorraine xx

Sounds like good news to me but if you’re unsure ask your doctor/oncologist for an explanation of the term ‘better than stable’. ❤️Xx Jane
