Vitamins and supplements while on Prednisolone?
I take both - basic vitamin/supplement package, omega 3, collagen, and calcium* (*taken separately from the pred). I'm on 10-12 mg of Prednilosone currently. I thought they were ok to take but I've suddenly found some posts that say no...my thought was that anything to boost immunity while on steroids

Many of you regs know how poorly I have been for the last 8 months to the point of feeling suicidal (and still am). My private Endo (after tests) just put everything down to the fact that I am stressed and if I reduce that, my T3 will go up, my cortisol levels will drop and I will be hunky dory again

All seems a bit fishy to me
I have finally got a neurologist appointment... in August. Apparently my head injury wasn't considered major enough to be seen any sooner. Looks like I'm going to be attempting to manage my symptoms for a while until I either see him then or blag myself a cancellation. So... this in mind, I've been

mTOR
Gecrellin mentioned Sirolimus [Rapamune, aka Rapamycin] in his recent post; it is an mTOR inhibitor. Rapamycin was in the news today, because of a dog study [1]. Just why this anti-aging study made the front page of the NY Times is a mystery, since there is coverage elsewhere going back to 2014. Anyway

Platelet-activating factor
New study [1] below. As might be expected, platelet-activating factor [PAF] triggers the aggregation of platelets that is an early step in clot formation. But PAF is somewhat mysterious. PCa cells contain a receptor for PAF [PAFR]. The new study: "found that PAFR was overexpressed in prostate cancer

New member with blood test results - your thoughts please
Hello, my name is Vanda and I am a 53 year post menopausal female. I have been struggling with a whole lot of symptoms that may point to hypothyroid disorder, so I had bloods done by my GP and also paid for New Horizon bloods as after reading on here, I knew my GP bloods would be next to useless. I

I have noticed several things and read many books concerning fibromyalgia since I was diagnosed in 2008.firstly the more that you sit for too long in the same position the worse the pain is. the solution to this is to embark on an exercise program. It was thought a while ago that exercise exacerbates

Oh boy, stumped again about what next,,,
Big hellos fellow Hashi-Hypos Long time no post but, alas, I have another chunky log of tests and symptoms to submit to your collective expertise. Tried to make it easy on the eye - hope that's worked: As per advice of some of you guys and private functional medicine GP ( Dr C in Hendon) on November

Cat scan with contrast
Would like to know if anyone has had similar reaction and what might be the cause. Had cat scan with omnipaque 300 on neck. The one normal reaction was a slight feeling of needing to go to the bathroom during the procedure. After the procedure, still n the table, felt dizzy, got very cold. Radiologist
