High psa. Scheduled for psma pet ct. urologist
just discovered I have very high PSA 250. Feel excellent. Only minor urological issues and dry ejaculation. Scheduled for PSMA in 10 days. have not spoken to an oncologist yet. My urologist wants me to start Lupron and bicalutamide before psma scan. will this cut off any future avenues of treatment

qol - Erectile Dysfunction Got You Down?
I may be weird (I definitely am), but I find dark humor a good outlet for the stress of cancer, the treatments, SE's, etc. I hope these corny jokes make some of you smile, and maybe even laugh. If my humor isn’t for you, please feel free to skip this post - or contribute your own funny wisecracks.

5/25 update on Zytiga failed
To review, after 19 months on Lupron, Zytiga, prednisone, PSA increased on 1/23 to 0.253, then 0.309 on 2/21. Plarify scan showed only one active site in hip which was radiated. 4/4 PSA dropped to 0.24 which indicated the lesion was knocked out and I would be hormone sensitive and stay on Zytiga. Yea

Xofigo Update
I just added more content to my bio regarding my husband's history and current status. I'm highlighting the current treatment for those who might be interested: 5/2023 PSA of 17.1 (holding steady near that reading for the last three tests) He has been on Lupron since PR and subsequent localized

Need some advice on what tools are still in the toolbox
Hi everybody, it’s been a while since I posted but I’m looking for some advice. I was diagnosed in the fall of 2019 with metastatic prostate cancer with 6 bone lesions (a few have shrunk and a few new one have appeared). FYI, I had my prostate removed in July 2019 Gleason 9, PSA 12. I’ve run the gambit

Radiation Done!
Have to celebrate the minor milestones. Today I finished 44 sessions on the TrueBeam system. My doc was pretty much spot on in his cautions on side effects - started with some not-so-nice lower bowel issues where I had to stick close to the home base for awhile (but nothing compared to what your typical

Am I high risk?
Im now getting confused with all these terms. See my bio. So 1 week into my EBRT, my RO stopped in and asked why Im still on abi+pred. He said when scheduling EBRT I could stop it. I told him my MO said not to stop. In the beginning, my RO intended for me to do Lupron, and only 6 months abi+pred

Breaking teeth
Recently I have had a couple of molars break off . I've only had a treatment of Lupron for 6 months . Two each 3-month injections. Could this be related to the Lupron along with the other side effects I have enjoyed like hot flashes, fatigue, muscle pain, and weight gain or just coincidental?

Hi, My partner of 26 years has stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer. He has been fighting it for 10 years He is 74. He had it removed immediately, 10yrs ago - Gleason was a 9. He did low dose chemo following that and so many drugs on and off over the years as well as Lupron which has left him without

Switching from prednisone to dexamethasone with abiraterone
I'm about to switch, not because my PSA is increasing, but because I'm hopeful that dexamethasone may reduce my blood pressure. Is this a sound or stupid reason to switch? Lupron plus abiraterone with prednisone have maintained my PSA < 0.1 (from 111 at DX) for over 4 years. I have all the usual SEs

B12 self injection
So we ordered some panpharma b12 injections which arrived yesterday. My partner has a b12 level of 123 with neurological symtoms and gp refuses to treat. I just got my results from my b12 test result last week a level of 202 which gp said was normal. Maybe this was abit stupid but as I have symptoms

Recurrence?
My husband was diagnosed in 2017, with PSA 48.74 Gleason 8 (3+5), I think Stage T2a. We were told it was not operable, so he completed 42 rounds of direct radiation and then started Lupron shots every three months, the last dose was in September 2021 I think. All this brought PSA down to <0.06 but yesterday

PSA Question
I updated my husbands profile to show his PSA went from -- 2.08 in January to... 1.73 in February 1.77 in March 1.78 in April His next test is 6/6. It has never gotten lower than 1.24 back in December of 2022. Is it normal for some people to not have an extremely low PSA? He

Prednisone tapping
I was on Zytiga-Prednisone-Lupron for three months, SE horrible, mostly caused by Prednisone. I put in more than 30 pounds in this short period of time, couldn't sleep interrupted by extremely muscle cramps and feet twitching, high blood pressure (which I've never had in the past) All of this besides

CDK12
I am curious to know how treatments are going with the few men who harbor CDK12 mutations. My husband has this mutation. He is in year 6 from diagnosis. 2017 he had Prostate removed … Gleason 8… clear margins at time of surgery. 6 months later PSA began to rise. He was put on Casodex/Lupron and had 39

Odd ways of discovering you had PCa
I went to the doctor for a rash on my hands and feet. Doctor gave me a physical, and a battery of blood tests. Couldn't figure out why hands and feet getting raw. PSA returned as 9, had RALP the next month. Ironically rash disappeared after surgery. 9 months ago, rash came back, my PSA hit 0.2 then

Need advice- MO recommending radiation. From the wording in the PSMA scan it sounds like a shot in the dark.
Husband on Erleada since Jan 2022. PSA started rising in Jan.,, again in March (almost doubling in 3 mo). PSMA scan stated “Two foci suspicious for tumor deposits located superior to the prostate at the level of the seminal vesicles at midline and inferiorly within the prostate apex (screen capture
