I am curious to know how treatments are going with the few men who harbor CDK12 mutations. My husband has this mutation. He is in year 6 from diagnosis. 2017 he had Prostate removed … Gleason 8… clear margins at time of surgery. 6 months later PSA began to rise. He was put on Casodex/Lupron and had 39 rounds of radiation. He has been on these drugs Intermittently for 5 years. Last Oct. he became Castrate resistant with PSA climbing to 14. PSMA scan showed nothing. He is now on NUBEQA and LUPRON.
He is doing great and Works everyday as Dean of Business School at a University here in Dallas. His main negative symptom is cognitive decline. If he didn’t have such a great EA he couldn’t do the job because of difficulty with short term memory. He is 70 and retired 2 years ago from a 47 year Healthcare Executive career. After two years of retirement he realized retirement wasn’t as great as he had “dreamed” it would be. He is quite fit and plays Pickleball 3 times per week and eats a relatively clean diet… no meat except for mostly wild caught salmon and infrequently chicken.
Thank you for reading this and for any reports about CDK12 mutations.
His Docs are Dr. Rahul Aggarwal, Dr. Antonarkis and Dr. Darshan Ghandi.
