Week5/Run3 - 20 mins
I don't know why but I'm feeling rather deflated after having completed this run. I thought I'd be over the moon like I was when I did the 8 mins run (twice). It maybe due to lack of sleep and stopping the nicotine patches today. Looking forward to a day off and starting Week 6 on Sunday. Hope everybody

Nicotine & benefits in gastrointestinal tract
Hi all, I was first diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2007 & this was later changed to a diagnosis of Crohn's in more recent times. I am also now going through the process of diagnosis of what is believed to be GPA\Wegeners. I also have 2 discs that are degenerating so we have 3 chronic diseases

I fight cravings in certain ways that suit me, one of those ways is to come on here or look for hints and tips or go on other sites. one said site is obviously a firm believer that CT is the only true way to beat our

Relapse
After 25 years of smoking I realise that smoking is purely
nicotine
addiction
, a poison that does not belong in the human body. Life is much better without nicotine. I am yet again on day 3 of withdrawal and I hope to never go back to smoking.

Day 20 😀Smoke free
I'm on day 20 today so feeling pleased with myself. Last 3 days iv been cold turkey and not been using nicotine patches. Still using my electronic ciggie but it's 0% nicotine. Must admit I do feel better already. I had a horrible cough prior to stopping. This has now stopped. My skin and hair also feels

I've an appointment for nicotine patches on Sunday (it's friday). I have COPD but after reading that my breathing will probably get worse when I've stopped smoking I am now petrified and confused as of what to do ???

WHY STOP SMOKING?
However,
nicotine
is a drug of
addiction
and many people find giving up a struggle. Help is available: GPs, practice nurses or pharmacists can provide information, encouragement, and tips on stopping smoking.

Am so weak :(
I suspect the habit is what is hard to break as it cant be the
nicotine
addiction
because I have a patch on. I am so annoyed with myself. I refuse to let this habit beat me!! I want to be fit and healthy and this habit goes against everything about me.

What makes you want to bang your head against a wall?
I know
Nicotine
Addiction
is a real illness and it must be so difficult…but if you aren't even trying, then I just hope you realise how lucky you are to have the choice to throw your lungs away.

COPD Going Backwards ?
I was diagnosed with COPD around 2012. The diagnosis was moderate, but I think that perhaps it was at the bad end of moderate. I had at least one flare up due to a chest infection which saw me hospitalized for a short period. I was in a right state before going into Hospital. The infection saw me waking

Smoking and thyroid - Thyroid and smoking.
Changes in cognition are a major symptom of
nicotine
addiction
. Current anti-smoking therapies have modest success at best.

Ah the joy of saying good bye to your 20 year
addiction
to
nicotine
! Discovering another person hiding inside of you , that is not very polite. This is my 6 th day and I must say, I was rocking it the first 5 days.....

Reset to Zero Monky
Just like previous occasions where I relapsed, I was long past the
nicotine
addiction
& I wasn't "craving" a cigarette. I only wanted something/anything that would calm the turbulence I was feeling.

Is Vaping just you still smoking kind of?
I understand stopping the
nicotine
addiction
is hard and opting to still have
nicotine
in your system by inhaling it threw vaper seems like a healthier option but nicotine is a poision and isn't ment to be in a humans system, so I say your still smoking and putting yourself at risk when your vaping,

New Pathways Part 7
If it were ALL about
nicotine
addiction
, we would all have gotten by with no more need than 5-6 cigarettes a day to satisfy our dwindling nicotine reserves, so why 20+ per day. 3.

Plan your quit
Why quitting smoking can seem so hard Smoking tobacco is both a physical
addiction
and a psychological habit. The
nicotine
from cigarettes provides a temporary, and addictive, high.
