VERTIGO CAUSED BY ACOUSTIC NEUROMA
Hi, I have had an unchanged acoustic
neuroma
since 2017. In the new year I started having vertigo attacks which were lasting anything up to a couple of minutes. This lasted for 7 days and I had to take time off work as I'm a radiography assistant in the hospital.

ENT referral
Hi, After a private hearing test I was told to give results to GP as left ear is noticeably worse than my right. I've had slightly worse hearing in my left ear for years maybe even 7 or 8 but it wasn't bad, just noticeably not as good so never really paid it any attention, I do very occasionally have

Not coping
I had surgery in 1997 for removal of an acoustic
neuroma
. This left me with one sided hearing and tinnitus. The tinnitus was always manageable and didn't interfere with my life. 3 years ago out of the blue it started in both ears and the volume was unbearable and still is.

Plump up the cushions on the Injury Couch 🛋
Fortunately it isn’t fractured, just a sprain, but (long story short) they were concerned about the residual lump/ strange tingly sensation on my foot left after an injury 2 years ago and further investigation for a Morton’s
neuroma
now lies ahead. Ho-hum.

How long between MRI and diagnoses of Acoustic Neuroma.
Would this timeline sound likely in the case of a
neuroma
or would they have contacted me sooner if it was that. I was expecting my results within 2 weeks of the MRI and when I heard nothing I had assumed that no news was good news and everything must have been ok.

Right eye watering
I have had my acoustic
neuroma
surgery back in 2018 and then regular check ups which were fine and they discharged me last year. Nowadays I am experiencing that my right eye (where surgery was done) is watering specially while I am eating.

Hearing aids

, is it likely to make any difference?

Report from my visit to the rheumatologist
I am called by a young registrar and he tells me that the appointment is wasted as now they know what is wrong with me (acoustic
neuroma
/vestibular schwannoma). Since I was there I asked about the
neuroma
in my ear and isn't it more common in GCA patients.

Newly diagnosed AN
Hello everyone I have been diagnosed with a 3cm acoustic
neuroma
and been told my only option is surgery to remove it due to where it’s sitting! I’m currently awaiting a date for surgery in Manchester! I feel numb, like it’s not really happening to me!

Facial paralysis - has anyone experienced it?
My partner's
neuroma
is just over 2cm, he got diagnosed this year. He has progressing hear loss and tinnitus in one ear, fatigue which really affects his work, and has recently said he feels numbness and tingling on the side of his face where the
neuroma
is.

Regrowth after gamma-knife?
Does anybody know what the re-growth probability is many years after stereotactic radiosurgery? I had treatment for an AN in 2013, which then decreased in size and then remained constant to 13x8x9mm until at least 2019 (last MRI). I've had a sudden increase in tinnitus in the past 10 days or so, so I'm

AN headache pain
I was diagnosed with a 2.2 cm AN in July. I have facial numbness all the time, a bit of hearing loss and some tinnitus, some pressure around my ear. I walk and do yoga each day so my balance is okay. But I find if I do too much in one day I can get a headache on my AN side which feels a bit like a hangover

I cannot blame the PMR
No, I have an acoustic
neuroma
or also known as vestibular schwannoma. No one wants a brain tumour but I guess this is the one to get if you have to. I was hoping it was inflammation and it would go away. Moral of the story - when your hearing changes - go get it checked out urgently.
