Right eye watering

Hey everyone, hope everyone is well. I have had my acoustic neuroma surgery back in 2018 and then regular check ups which were fine and they discharged me last year. Nowadays I am experiencing that my right eye (where surgery was done) is watering specially while I am eating. I am pregnant currently and I can't have MRI scan due to pregnancy. Does anyone know why this must be happening? Thanks in advance.

Hi! You’re definitely not alone! I had my debulk surgery for a 22mm neuroma in April this year at Kings London.. recovery has been erratic but on the whole I’m ok, still feeling unsteady/light headed but used to it now. My right eye (neuroma side) has been watering from about 10 weeks into recovery and my nose runs as well but only when I’m eating, mainly chewing..! I had a follow up MRI in September and am awaiting a follow up phone call regarding the ongoing symptoms, the MRI results & the ongoing plan, next week.. I’ve had zero follow up from Kings in the last 6 months, which is very disappointing.. I have been e mailing them regularly as I was/am a bit concerned about the watery eye so am eagerly awaiting the chance to speak to someone.. from googling it (which I know you shouldn’t but what options are there when the hospital won’t issue a follow up appointment!) it seems it’s to do with the nerves and the way they heal… it’s not a big problem to me, more irritating to have to remember a tissue up my sleeve every single time I eat..! If I was you I would try to contact the hospital that carried out surgery & see if you can discuss it with a member of the team.. hope all goes well with your pregnancy, take care.. B xx

Thank you so much, I hope you also feel better soon.Yes it happens while chewing, it's little embarrassing when I go out with friends/family for lunch/dinner. I will give a call to the hospital and discuss. Thank you for your wishes xx
