It's mortar and pestle time - Ginkgo update
Holland & Barrett have discontinued 30mg Ginkgo tablets, leaving 60mg and 120mg on the shelf. No more convenience for a 3 x 30mg dose. I tried a 120 but the increase in tinnitus which happens for me on dose day was uncomfortable so I won't be doing that again. It looks like more is not necessarily better

Bronchoscopie advice
Hello everyone I was recently due to have a bronchoscopie but cancelled at the last minute. I was told that I would have a local anesthetic in my nose and that they would be working on my lungs for 15 minutes. The idea of someone playing around in my lungs for 15 minutes whilst I was awake was very

Trabeculectomy at 18
Hi I had a Trabeculectomy back in July and sadly my vision has never been the same. The first few weeks my surgeon was surprised because everything went well, my vision was the same and my eye pressure dropped to a good level (13) from what it was (57). But afterwards my eye pressure dropped too low

anismus
I have chronic constipation. I think it is casued by various muscles not relaxing as the symptoms fit what I have read online. There are vaious names for this, anismus, dysssergenic defaecation and obstruced defaecation. I looked on this site and this is one of the groups that seems appropriate to post

Horizant tapering
Dear All: Apologies- I might be unintentionally reposting this: I have been on Horizant for about seven months, at 600mg in the morning and 600mg in the evening (1,200 mg total). Before that, I was on 600mg Gabapentin daily for two years. Recently, my doctor and I have agreed to reduce my Horizant

Whose advice should I follow?
I had a trabeculectomy 18 months ago. Last July I went to a Moorfields virtual clinic for monitoring. I received a letter from the doctor a few days later to say that my visual field on the operated eye was gradually worsening & that I would be seen at the Consultant led clinic four months later. I

Azithromycin
Does anyone else take Azithromycin 3 times a week prophylactic? Just wondering if you have to take your rescue antibiotics due to chest infection, do you stop the Azithromycin?

Just diagnosed with 4.0 cm aneurysm of ascending aorta and severe calcification
Hi Friends I cannot express how shocked and dismayed I am finding out that I have severe calcification of my aorta and a 4.0 cm aneurysm. I have read that the aneurysm can be monitored yearly with imaging but there is nothing that can be done for the calcification. In the past 3 years, I have had

A question on 'high' dosage
So I'm currently on 150mcg of levo and 30mcg T3 and my latest results were still only 65% and 62% respectively. I've just started HRT so I may well continue to see improvements but I'm curious about my dosing. I'm 6'1" and roughly 65kg so I'm on the cusp of underweight. I know we need what we need

Picking
My husband with PD has been picking at his skin. Especially his hands. Dermatologist recommended lotions for dry skin. Neurologist says itās not due to PD. He thinks he is peeling skin, but I donāt see anything. Seems to me to be more like a habit, like biting nails. Has anyone else had this feeling?

Lactose free Levo
Good morning,I'm wondering if anyone has experience of switching to lactose free Levothyroxene and it helping with fatigue specifically? I have always been somewhat dairy/cows milk intolerant. SIBO!!! But fearing taking antibiotics, especially Neomicynā¦ Iāve heard of terrible side effects ( tinnitus and hearing loss).
Hello, here is my doctor's report: ''The report of your hydrogen and methane breath test is positive, both for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth as well as excessive methane-producing bacteria in the large bowel. It may be sensible to consider treatment with non-absorbable antibiotics. If you would

Cholestyramine
My husband has had explosive diarrhea since mid February. After blood tests, stool samples, colonoscopy, and more stool samples, they are not able to determine what is causing the diarrhea. The doctor has prescribed Cholestyramine. Has anyone had experience with this medication and did it help?

Why does everyone seem to have permanent tinnitus here?
What is the cause of permanent tinnitus? This is so worrying, as my tinnitus started this month due to ear canal infection. Would this be permanent? I have been prescribed otomize. Would that be helpful?

Interesting Article (please read)
came across this article today and would like to know your thoughts: i was swayed by flashy advertising in the late 1990s featuring medical stars like Professor Lord Winston, who convinced me that omega-3 fish oil supplements were essential for my brain and my heart. Fast forward to today, and

Hi, I've recently been diagnosed with Gilbert's syndrome/disease. It was picked up via blood tests. I'm waiting to have a liver scan but the GP hasn't come up with any other plan. My main question at the minute is does anyone suffer with itching. Its not put down as one of the main symptoms but it's
