update on sore Nipple!

so did go to see the Dr who agreed my breasts were quite tricky to diagnose due to the amount of scar tissue from previous mammoplasty - initially felt the tenderness was maybe due to simple fibroadinoma but wasn’t certain - so I was fast tracked to Derriford and my appointment is this afternoon. Interestingly I’ve found a few posts on here relevant to sore breasts and also on Google saying PMR/GCA can affect breasts. Anyway im obviously a tad anxious about today but I know it needs proper investigation.

will let you know!

good evening and thank you all for your good wishes.

I had my breast check at Derriford pm today- what a lovely group of staff - so friendly and empathetic. Saw a very young gentle Dr who gave me a thorough check and whilst he could not explain the soreness I have was pretty confident there was nothing he could feel that was sinister. I stayed for a mammogram and will wait to see - But I am reassured. I also looked through past posts and googled and it seems there may be some evidence of PMR causing breast pain/tenderness/changes?

Again proof that Prednisolone can hugely improve our quality of life as regards pain and mobility issues - but it can impact on other aspects of our health.

Had results of My recent blood tests (after 2 months) C-reactive down to 3 but leukocytes and neutrophils both elevated!

So again thank you for your interest and constant source of information and knowledgeable replies. What a great forum this is!

It is common for leuco and neutro counts to be raised when on pred - it increases the neutrophils and that increases the leucocyte or total white cell count. It may persist for the duration of pred treatment.

Thank you for that reassurance!
