Test Results
Hi, on 1st October I had some blood tests done and the results were as follows: TSH 0.26 (0.4-5.5) Free T4 18.3 (11.0-26.0) Free T3 3.8 (3.0-6.0) Ferritin 15 (10-291) My GP was happy with my thyroid results although personally I think I would feel better if my free T3 was higher. She put me on ferrous

GP appointment - mixed result
Hi, I came back from the doctor today and I presented a list of symptoms to her. She acknowledged the dark circles and pale skin (although my appearance today doesn't compare to last night's) and looked at my ferritin. She asked if I take anything for it and I said the Floradix. She told me that wasn't

Electroconvulsive therapy and Epilepsy
I had a severe

that lead to being sectioned around 4 years ago. I later fell into a catatonic state and needed ECT to get me back in working order.

High serum B12, but feel awful, opinions please
Serum B12 1099, max 1100 whilst supplementing. Low MCV&MCH. Was diag. with iron deficiency anaemia now just in range whilst on ferrous sulphate. If I understand correctly pernicious anaemia would give High MCV & MCH. Any suggestions please as to what could be going on here or am I clutching at straws

VitD3 and medications that can reduce thyroid hormone absorption...
Houston Thyroid and Endocrine state
vitD3 can significantly reduce absorption of thyroid hormone
and advise taking it 4 hours away from thyroxine as advised with calcium and iron. [i]These are medications that reduce the absorption of thyroid hormone in the gastrointestinal system significantly

Walking (well running actually) on Water
MMR played up and even my own inflated ego would not believe that I had run the first kilometre in 2mins 5 secs - in short MMR had a
nervous
breakdown
and lost the plot, having me run across water it seems - so I ran (or according to MMR swam) on and on - fortunately I'd set my stopwatch timer thingy

Confused - Hypo mis-managed or Chronic Fatigue??
Hi everyone, I'm 33 and was diagnosed hypothyroid approx. 12 years ago I think. During this time, GPs and NHS consultants have made regular adjustments to my throxine dosage (currently 175mg as of June this year). I've experienced good and bad patches during this time, however have never had what I

No better after b12 boosters.
After asking GP for the b12 , ferritin etc , the results came back out of range for both of these, and I was immediately started on jabs and ferrous fumarate and told jabs would be for life. The doc told me "I would feel like a new woman" or not? Well guess what I feel the same as before if not worse

After my depressing post yesterday, I managed to get an appointment today with another doc in the practice. My goodness he was brilliant! I had my 1st b12 jab today and appointments for another 4 for now. He also sent me for more blood tests ( quite a few not sure what) He is also contacting a gastro

Cyanosis (blue fingers) and incontinence with B12 deficiency?
I am becoming more and more convinced that I have a functional B12 deficiency and will be arranging an active B12 test in short order. However, I am also currently being treated for iron deficiency (ferritin of 4) and despite starting on ferrous fumarate 305mg once a day I do not feel better; if anything

What to ask GP?
Hello all! Just a bit of advice please. I have brought my September appointment forward to discuss b12, folate results Etc because I feel so tired and out of whack. I am hoping he will suggest some b12 injections as I have heard they work faster. If he says these are not necessary, is there anything

Treatment for iron-deficiency anaemia: would it affect the dose of thyroxine?
I've just started on ferrous fumarate for iron-deficiency anaemia (IDA). I feel more tired now than I did before, and this has got me thinking: does treatment of IDA have any effect on free T4 levels? Is it possible that by treating the IDA one needs to dial up or down the current dose of thyroxine?

Self Loathing & Total Loss Of Identity
I don't have anyone to turn to or to talk to and the way I feel, is something I remember feeling a long, long time ago, before I ended up in hospital having my stomach pumped when I had a

breakdown
and was in the clutches of post natal depression.

Been prescribed ferrous fumarate and vitamin d
I've managed to persuade the duty GP at my surgery that the results of my recent French blood tests are something to be at least mildly concerned about: ferritin 4 and vitamin d 17. He really didn't seem that worried by either. Anyhow, he's prescribed ferrous fumarate 305 mg per day for 30 days and

Am I over-medicated?
53-year-old female, diagnosed with hypothyroidism/Hashimoto in May. Started on Levothyroxine 50, which was upped to 75 in June, as was still struggling with tiredness. Asked doc for iron as well as my Ferritin level was very low. She prescribed me Ferrous Fumarate and upped my Levothyroxine to 100.

Please can someone help me interpret my results?
My TSH is checked every 6 months, because I have antibodies. The TSH is normally around 3.8 so I am not medicated. In desperation I have had a private blood test (Blue Horizon) Please can someone help me to interpret the results? I can see that the TSH is better than I think I have ever had before

Most effective way to increase Ferratin, Vit C and B12 levels?
Would love to hear others experience. According to my GP I am not technically anaemic as my Hb is very good even though I have a Ferratin level of 10 A further test however also indicated that my B12 level is 215 so maybe borderline PA? I have tried Ferrous Fumerate and Ferrous Sulphate but both have
