Ant-inflammatory
I have chronic pancreatitis treated with Creon but I just discovered why and that I had additional issues. I has an MRI/MRCP, which disclosed I have 4 cysts on my pancreas and I have autoimmune cirrhosis. The cysts are just under a cc so nothing can be done but wait and watch. I wanted him to treat cirrhosis

update on my wrist pain.
I am 77 years old and I've had PMR for 6 years. I'm now at 2mg. prednisone. (up from .75....ah, I was so hopeful a year ago) and over the last 3 months have been waking up with terrible pain in hand and thumb and wrist. Primary doc sent me for an EMG which showed moderately severe (whatever that means

Strange bunch of chronic conditions?
I was able to stop afib occurrences and most ectopics, mostly from losing weight, becoming vegan, and cutting back on meds. I have CKD (chronic kidney disease) which benefits from a vegan diet. Also lupus, which caused hemolytic anemia. My kidney scores are better now, almost normal, but I'm a little

My PMR is basically gone, but now I got shingles on my right side of face.
All the drugs I took, take lowers my immune system. No prednisone anymore, but Methotrexate lowers immune response. About 4 days ago, got shingles on my face and forehead. It is super pain, bad pain. Before the shingles, I felt like my eyes were infected, eyes and skin all red and sore. Pain not quite

Flare, increased prednisolone: progress to date
As there is so much learning for me I thought maybe it might also be helpful to others to give update on my temporary increase by 5 mgs. I think I may have reached a turning point. It has been several days now since I increased the prednisolone and each day I seemed to have got worse, with more and

Another Quandary
I am going a bit off piste but hopefully someone on this forum might be able to help. I have had GCA for around about 7 years which is under control with 2mg a day of coated prednisolone. Recently I have had a flare of arthritis in my knees. Phoned GP he prescribed Naproxen 50mg along with Pantaprazole

Swollen ankles after periodontal surgery
Had some minor gum & bone surgery to prepare tooth for a crown & subsequently have swollen ankles, making it difficult to walk. Asked the periodontal surgeon if inflammation from procedure is causing RA ankle swelling/flare & he says, "Coincidental". Rheum says any injury, infection, stress

Red eye
Hi, I keep getting a red bloodshot eye. It's always the same eye and in the same place on the eye. Is this anything to do with PMR or a side effect of the Prednisolone and does anyone else get this please. I'm trying to get an appointment at the MEC clinic at my opticians, but would like to know if this

Methotrexate or Prednisone which is more damaging?(also update on eyes)
Hi, it's me again. During an eye exam, I was told my optic nerve was narrow, and that I needed to be seen asap due to the risk of blindness with GCA. I got in to see a neuro ophthalmologist who told me that my optic nerve isn't narrow, it's just turned on an angle. Probably from my connective disease

SHOULD I GO UP
I started my 20mg of prednisone 2days ago. I’m still quite achy. Although I can get by during the day. . Should I try going up a little or just be patient and see if I need a couple more days? To get in touch with my doctor who doesn’t seem to know as much as I do because I’ve had this before a few

Moved from Abi to Nubeqa and saw a PSA increase
I recently switched from Abiraterone/Prednisone to Nubeqa because of the high blood pressure that I had with Abi requiring additional BP meds. I was previously .058 a month ago when I switched and .109 today, almost double in a month. Any one with experience with this switch?

Pain everywhere.
I've been 10+ yrs searching for answers. I had some bladder problems in 2013. Doctors did surgery. I almost died. Apparently they told me my blood vessels looked funny. They didn't know if they "knicked " me or what but I lost 8 pints of blood very quickly. They barely got me transfusion in time. I chalked

Update on skin lesions
Hi everyone, just thought I would give update on the serious skin lesions I developed that were unlike the normal prednisone related ones. Sheffield Jane mentioned it could be urticaria vasculitis and my GP thought that the symptoms and duration of the lesions indicated that this is what it is. He did

urgent - re steroid course of prednisolone tablets and local steroid injection at the same time?
Hi has anyone had a local steroid injection at the same time as being on a course of prednisolone tablets ? I wondered if this was a common occurrence ? and why bother with the local steroid injection whilst on a course of prednisolone steroids anyway ? there must be some reasons for and against
