Jaw locking while tapering for GCA
I am in the process of tapering from 65 mg of Prednisone for GCA. Tonight the right side of my jaw temporarily locked while brushing my teeth. If I am honest, my scalp is becoming a bit tender again, and my tinnitus has increased a notch. I was on the high doses of Prednisone for six weeks, and began

Giving up work before retirement.
I have been asked to share my story to a new post as it might be useful for other people in this situation to read. I had to give up my business in 2016 because of my health. I was only 54 at the time. I had been struggling for a while and was on 30mg of Prednisolone at the time along with a cocktail

GCA diagnosed last February. Biopsy tested positive. No typical symptoms of GCA,2021 just jaw pain at night but I have had PMR since 2021
GCA diagnosed last February. Put on 60mg Prednisone/day for a month. CRP was 67.7 before 60 mg and came down to 12.6 after the treatment. ESR was not an issue.Because CRP is 12.6 should i continue taking 60 mg/day prednisone? My Rheumy is away for 10 days Your advise would be greatly appreciated

Do I have symptoms of PMR
good morning all, I was diagnosed 2/1/24 withGCA after having serious sight issues in left eye. I had sensitive scalp, loss of weight and energy and left sided headaches for a month or so before but didn’t link these. Started on 50mgm but symptoms started again when I dropped to 40 so increased to 60mg

Addison's disease
I stopped taking Abiraterone three months ago to have a vacation. Was on it for six years. I tapered of the prednisone. I became very fatigued. Could hardly do anything in the morning and then limited things in the afternoon. then I thought of my low cortisol level (due to the abi) a couple years ago

Staying on prednisolone
Hi All, Would just like to know if being on a low dose of prednisolone forever is something that anyone out there is doing? I was on pred for 9 years and was slowly weaned off it, finishing in July 2023. To be honest I have had so much muscle and joint pain since coming off pred it would be a relief

Broncholidator Reversibility Test
Hi, I posted a few days ago about my team wanting to do a broncholidator reversibility test and FeNO before they put me forward for biologics. I wasn't going to do the test, then decided to do it, incase it did show reversibility to save time waiting for a referral to Wynthenshawe as my current hospital

constant itching
Has anyone experienced severe itching out of no where with RA? I’ve had it a few years and been on the same medication for a year without issue a bout three weeks ago I started itching like crazy. I’ll be fine and get these explosions of itching all over my body and it doesn’t stop. My Rheumatologist

Six hour time change
Going from US to EU for an 8-day river cruise. Should I take my prednisone at the same UTC time, or make a temporary adjustment to the new time zone?

pmr symptoms
has anyone else had posterior base of head pain with pressure headaches that also wrap around anterior upper chest and neck area with a tight, vise like feeling. Seems like the pain is traveling upward from the original shoulder and back pain, but no temporal or jaw pain. Currently on 15 mg prednisone

Down to 2mg
I began the journey with PMR and Prednisone in July of 2021. Very scary time as theories were circulating throughout the world that the Covid-19 vax was responsible. I began tapering after 1week on a euphoric 40mg to 10mg which kept the inflammation and symptoms at bay. My blood tests did not confirm

reduced prednisone
I’m now reducing prednisone from 20mg to 15mg only second day and my stomach has swollen like a balloon making it very uncomfortable for me to move around. I really don’t know what to do. Has anyone else suffered this?

weight loss question please
I would welcome some advice. Been on prednisone since February 2023, also on tocilizumab injections. Currently taking 7mg prednisone. I am trying to lose some of my weight gain. I tried 1500 calories a day and lost nothing. Now doing low carb but weight not moving. My daughter gets married in August

Advice required
Hello, This is my first post but i have been an avid reader every day and have learned so much. I was diagnosed having PMR in September 2023 by my GP who recommended I take 15 mg of Prednisolone daily to see if his diagnosis was correct. To my surprise and amazement, I became pain free which was a miracle

History of Hypothyroidism on Maternal Side (Gma, mom, aunt, sister). HELP! Should I get tested?
After I gave birth in 2006, I immediately had a “flare up.” My body ached , I felt exhausted and was covered in hives (rashes, welts, eczema). I was put on a Prednisone taper starting at 60mg. Throughout the time between 2006 and 2024, I have regular flare ups. I’ve torn two rotator cuffs, awoken to
