Enteric coated Prednisolone
Hi all, A quick question please. I am currently down to 1.5mg pred & I spoke with my GP about reducing the dose of Lanzoprazole to 15mg & eventually coming off them. She’s given me the 15mg Lanzoprazole along with enteric coated 1mg pred. (I’ve never had these before) It says on the leaflet inside

I had a flu shot a month ago and I am on 5mg of prednisone for PMR. My arm has been hurting since then. Has anyone else had this problem.

Abiraterone edema management
One of the fun things I am getting as an SE while on lupron/abiraterone/prednisone is fluid retention. Edema and getting up to pee 3-4 times nightly (losing 3-4 lbs of weight during the night.) What if anything can be done about this?

skin lesions that are not typical bruising from prednisone
Hi everyone, has anyone experienced skin lesions that begin by appearing to be some kind of an insect bite with tremendous itching and irritation and a lot of redness and then develop dark patches that look almost like scabs but aren’t. One of these had redness going all around my arm and another goes

PSA increase nearly one year after triplet therapy (mHSPC), what's next?
Hello everyone, thank you for all your help for a year. My dad went from a high of 3103 PSA to a nadir of 44. He unfortunately couldn't reach a <1 result but it had stabilized for a few months after his docetaxel + zytiga + prednisone. Unfortunately his new result is 67 PSA exactly a year since diagnosis

Tapering
Might be a silly question, so apologies if it is, when slowly reducing prednisolone, are the adrenals being asked “to join the party” and if they aren’t, is that when you can get some feelings of fatigue etc while you wait for them to wake up. Is that why we taper slowly to give them time?

Prednisolone and Surgery
Hi, I have been taking steroids now for at least 6 years. I am currently taking 20mg daily. I have read several articles on this site regarding the need for extra doses when undergoing surgery. Is this correct and if so what are the likely consequences of extra not given.Your expert knowledge would be

GCA or TMJ
Started with PMR in September 2022 and now tapered to 4.5 and no symptoms. Using the slow taper, I’m to go to 4 tomorrow. In the last 3 days I’ve had a little niggle in the right side of my jaw. No headaches. The niggles go away within an hour of taking my prednisone. If it is GCA, do I need to up the

Can PMR without Prednisone lead to GCA?
I understand that taking Prednisone for PMR reduces the inflammation but does not change the trajectory or the PMR process. So is it not the case that the same applies to GCA? PMR without Prednisone doesn't "cause" GCA, but if GCA is present the Prednisone will reduce the inflammation thus reducing

Suddenly started getting really debilitating pains in my right side so had an xray yesterday and waiting for results

Fed up with the PMR pain!
Hello, I've had PMR for about 2.5 years. And apart from the beginning, when the Doctor put me on 15mg of Prednisolone, I've had (varying degrees of) pain every day. I keep going up and down the steroid dosage scale and am currently on 2mg....but not managing very well. I would love to get off these

Prednisone Tapering Challenge
This is the third try for me at tapering off of Prednisone. I started @ 15mg for PMR. The first few times, I'm sure I rushed trying to get to zero. Even got to zero mg the second time and had to jump back to 5 to get some relief. This time I used the Dead Slow Method and had to extend that beyond
