GCA Ear pressure and stiff neck
I have GCA/PMR for the second time. For the past 6 weeks I’ve been taking 3mg prednisone and Actemra injections every other week. Since then, I have had ear pressure, and a throat that feels swollen. I’ve read that GCA can cause ear problems. Has anyone else experienced this? There are no visual

Enhertu side effect: pneumonitis (lung inflammation)
Hi all, After 3 years on oral meds I had to switch to IV chemo in December and started with Enhertu. After my 2nd infusion I developed pneumonitis (lung inflammation), which is a known risk with Enhertu and can be dangerous if left untreated. The main intial symptom is a persistent dry cough, indicating

Do I have PMR?
I did some research on my own after having these pains in my shoulders, upper arms, hips and lower back. Getting out of bed, turning over in bed, getting up from a chair, or reaching for something was very painful. I’ve been having back issues with a slipped vertebrae for about 2 years. I’ve had 3 epidural

Bleed during TWW
Hi All, I seem to bleed during the TWW, first four ivf rounds I was on either utrogestan or cyclogest pessary only and I bled day 8/9 of the TWW. Then the last two rounds I have been on one lubion and cyclogest pessary and the bleed would start on day 10/11. I have asked for prontogest for my 6th ivf

Zolendronic Acid Infusions
I know this treatment is for osteoporosis and not PMR but I’ve been offered this treatment as I’m over 65 and I’m on the cusp of being osteopenic and my bone fracture score is now just above 10.. Recently my rheumy said that the results of my dexascan were some of the best he had seen for someone on

Methotrexate not Pred
After a few appointments with Rheumatologist who was adamant I did not have PMR, he agreed to a CT scan with contrast. The result was likely PMR or large joint arthropathy. I was put back on a short course of Pred while starting Methotrexate as a longer term med. I am in contact now with Rheumatology

Use by Dates and Prednisolone
I have a prescription of unopened 1mg gastro-resistant Prednisolone tablets. They've been kept in a cool, dry place but the expiry date is Oct 23. There seems to be mixed opinions from my research online as to whether you can continue to use Prednisolone after the expiry date, and for how long after

Coming Off Calquence (
I was put on Calquence (acalabrutinibam) 2 years ago due to Hemolytic Anemia. We tried prednisone for 3 years but every time they took me off my hemoglobin would drop and eventually it was determined I needed treatment. As of now my numbers are looking really good and I'm considering going off of it

Prednisolone stopped
This is an epic day; my first day with NO PREDNISOLONE after a 5 year journey with PMR. I feel quite nervous and wonder what the next few months will be like. I have reduced extremely slowing, particularly over the last 2 years and it took me 3 attempts to get below 3mg, but once there, I seemed to

Increase dosage and taper
I have been managing my PMR for seven years, and on prednisone for five of those years after thinking I could manage it withou meds. Dumb idea. I can taper down to 4mg or 5mg, but have to then increase to a higher dosage to address a reoccurring pain and numbness in arms. Is there a magical formula

Chest Infection and Adrenal Insufficiency
So, I've had multiple hospital attendances recently due to this Chest Infection. Was put on antibiotics, but had an Asthma Exacerbation anyway so attended again as home nebulisers weren't enough. So asked if I should add Prednisolone on top of my Hydrocortisone. No one knows the answer. And I don't know

Abiraterone, Prednisone, Apalutamide combo Improves Prostate Cancer Outcomes, Leaves HRQoL Unaffected
Oncological outcomes improved with the addition of abiraterone acetate (Zytiga) plus prednisone (AAP) and apalutamide (Erleada) after radical prostatectomy and did not significantly affect health-related quality of life. https://www.targetedonc.com/view/abiraterone-prednisone-apalutamide-improves-prostate-cancer-outcomes-leaves-hrqol-unaffected

Pain in neck, shoulders and arms
I have been experiencing pain in my neck shoulders and arms for almost 2 years. At one point well over a year ago, I upped my Prednisone from 10 mg to 20 mg on my doctor’s advice. It helped a little but not enough. I might have been wrong but I did not want to take any more Prednisone than the 20. I

Getting to the End of the Road...
Hi - I'm currently on .5 mg, and on Monday I will reduce down to .25 mg of prednisone for 2 weeks, AND THEN THAT'S IT (fingers crossed). Yes, I'm apprehensive about "the end", wondering if the inflammation will just come back or if it will finally be over. I have plenty of prednisone in case I need
