Newbie - Should I be considering supplements?

My GP didn't mention any additional blood testing for vitamin deficiencies. Is this something I should be requesting? Should I be considering taking additional

B 12 AND ANTIGENS CARRIED BY RH POSITIVE BLOOD TYPES
I am looking for the name of the test used to detect level of working B12 as opposed to B12 in the pool? I am B RH Positive type with below minimum levels of ferritin for the past five years. Complete Blood Count (CBC) has shown microcytosis and hypochromia consistent with IDA (iron deficiency

Iron Deficiency
I was just wondering if there is any connection between RA or similar diseases and iron deficiency anaemia. I have my first appointment with my Rheumy on Monday, my GP suspecting I may have RA or something similar. When he did a blood test 2 months ago he said my red blood cell count was slightly

Iron Deficiency Symptoms
These can be common in newbie Coeliacs (2 yrs CD (and women for obvious reasons). Don't just put up with feeling crappy. Often friends and family will get used to you feeling unwell. Write down your energy levels at different times and compare them with other people you know in similar circumstances

Blood tests
Hi I wonder whether anyone can explain to me which blood tests I would need to have that would indicate being low in vitamins etc. I decided to ask the receptionist at our doctors to print out my last full blood count results but at first glance they might as well have been in a foreign language

Medications and food to avoid, applies to most of us who has RLS. This is taken from the www.rlshelp.org website..
Drugs and Foods to avoid to improve RLS This section will discuss various drugs and foods that may worsen RLS. Things that cause worsening of RLS in some patients may not bother others in the same way; in fact, others may even be helped by these same medications or foods that worsen others. Please

Does anyone have Iron deficiency anaemia and had to have iron infusions ?
Hi, I have had iron deficiency anaemia for sometime. I have taken iron supplements in the past but, I haven't been able to tolerate them very well. I have been investigated by the gastro team for any bleeding and there is'nt a focus for the anaemia. I have tried to improve my iron intake with my diet

I requested my notes from my surgery and noticed that as far back as August a comment had been made on my ferritin levels(low), transferrin(hight)and transferrin saturation(low). My Hgb though has been normal. I was severely anaemic in April 09 and my GP

Vitamin D deficiency
There have been several articles in the last few days mentioning the concerns of increasing numbers of people especially children that are feared will present with vitamin D deficiency in the coming months. Update on ice cream cones – very disappointed with Sainsbury’s
If you have been following my recent blog posts, you will know that I have been searching for the Barkat gluten free, dairy free ice cream cones. I approached the Barkat stand at the Allergy Show several weeks ago and they assured me they would be back on the shelves in Sainsbury’s very soon. I have

Hi Everyone, I was diagnosed with APS in December after having 2 miscarriages. Didn't take the news to well!! Been suffering from anxiety ever since. Last month I was told I have a vitamin B12 deficiency and I was wondering it is common thing with people with APS? My doctor isn't sure.

Weight gain?
Ok,so I've been fully gluten free for nearly a week now,I'm taking my iron tablets to sort my anaemia. I'm eating healthily, small portions of fresh meat and potatoes, cereal and I have one treat a day of a 'fun size' chocolate bar and I have gained 2lbs already. I am avoiding anything that isn't naturally
