My main problem is that I have an esophageal stricture which means I cannot swallow anything large. All the multivitamins I look at are huge. I tried

NHS not working in Devon
Really fed up with the NHS right now. First they tell me my BP is slightly high so put me on tablets second they tell me I have raised blood sugar by 1 point so at risk of type 2 diabetes. Since April I haven't been able to exercise due to back and leg pain. I have been referred to our local hospital

Gestational Diabetes help
I have just been told I am on the cusp of having gestational diabetes so I am having to monitor it over the next few days. What are other people's experience of this? Did many of you have to have insulin injections? Or did you take metformin?

Hypothyroidism & Diabetes
Hi, I just wanted to know if there is a relationship between hypothyroidism and diabetes? I have been taking levothyroxine for the last almost 4 years to treat hypo. Now my test results for FBS & HGA1C came 137mg/dl (range 115-126mg/dl) and 6.3% (pre-diabetis 5.7-6.4%) . My doctor told me that I am per-diabetes

Balancing diabetes with PD
Between a rock and a hard place. My husband is 26 years into PD. He is now also pre diabetic. How can you balance what foods to eat. Too many carbs turn into sugar and too much protein stops PD meds working properly. He tried Metformin but felt it was affecting his PD. The more carbs he has the more

Does heat increase blood glucose levels?
This is my first summer since being diagnosed. Since diagnosis I have been on low carb and have lost a lot of weight. As a result most days my readings are in the region of 5.5. Today I have eaten the same food as in previous months but my bg has gone up to 9.1. I have been drinking a lot of water

How cholesterol varies among us
There has been quite a lot of discussion about cholesterol recently. Sometimes it looks as if anyone who is hypothyroid will have high cholesterol (however measured). Also, that this high cholesterol will remain high in many of us. Thought I’d point out that it is perfectly possible to have low cholesterol

I've just had 3 days of heck with this cholesterol lowering drug. It could be all the E numbers or the povidone but my bs has been high for the three days along with many side effects. I certainly couldn't go through another day of it, so I'm giving up. The reason I was trying it is because I

Breastfeeding/formula
My baby was given 10ml formula after her birth as she was not taking breast milk. Now I’ve been told I will need to keep topping her up to this amount with formula after breastfeeding to keep her blood sugar levels up. I am confused why this is and want to only breastfeed her but this isn’t going well

Glucose tolerance Test
Hi everyone, I have a glucose tolerance test this month. The midwife informed me that I have to put 17 glucose tablet's in a cup and drink. Was just a bit worried if it would be too much of sugar and would it harm the baby. Would be comforting to know about your experiences. Thank you all

Fasting Low Blood Sugar increases Cardio-vascular Related Death even in Non-diabetes- Study reveals
It is a well known fact that Low blood sugar is dangerous for Diabetes .....if the blood sugar falls below 80 mg/dl.....it would harm in many ways... mainly CV risk and at times a person can collapse .... Fasting blood sugar more than 126 mg/ dl is also not desirable though not as dangerous as low blood
