Hi all I bet you wondered where I was on Mondays weigh in well we took a few days away. I did weigh myself last Monday and I sts which I’m happy with.
Whilst away have have got a skin infection on my arms and hands managed to see a doctor yesterday when we got home I’ve been given some cream with a antibiotic in it and hope it works for me.
Well the big one is I had my bloods done on the 11th September this is the one to see how my blood sugars are now since I’ve been on LCHF eating plan. As most of you know I’m off my insulin.
Well it’s 7.6 and cholesterol is 3.6 or 3.7 my diabetic nurse has always said she would like me to have my sugars levels at 7.5 she said she is very happy with that.
She is going to call me in two weeks to see how I’m doing and I’m hoping she will reduce my metformin 🌹🌹🌹
What are the units there, Iwilldoit22? HbA1c percentage, or instantaneous blood glucose mmol/L?
Anyway, must be a massive relief to be off the insulin. It really drives me mad that doctors even prescribe insulin for T2D in the first place. It's about the worst possible thing you could do.
Not exactly. IIRC, you've only been doing this six months, and your HbA1c responds pretty slowly (think of it as a three-month moving average of your blood sugar). So 7.6% at this point is a dramatic improvement.
Only a realtime blood glucose monitor (CGM system) will tell you what's actually going on, but you're almost certainly not diabetic anymore. That means your HbA1c will continue to fall, and may well reach the normal range (~6%) sometime next year. As long as you stick to the plan, of course!
I will be very interested to hear what your diabetes nurse does/says when she notices you're "cured" of an incurable disease Do keep us updated on your story.
That's very interesting I did say what eating plan I'm on but I was told each eating plan works different with each person. I'm still on 2 metforman so hope in time I will come off them too.🌷
