Hi, I’m new here though my breast cancer diagnosis was many years ago in 2004 when I was 43, I had the usual investigations followed by lumpectomy, mastectomy and axillary clearance then chemo and radiotherapy, I am so lucky to have remained cancer free, it was triple negative, grade 3, stage 2 if I

Further advice please
Hi, I posted about a month ago regarding Vits K2 and D3 as I have decided not to have any more Alendronoc Acid or infusions. My scan shows some osteoporosis and some osteopenia. I have been on pred for 2.5 years (PMR) starting at 15mg and slowly reducing to 1mg and taking a daily chewable Adcal-D3.

Gap in radiation
I have been advised 28 session of radiation(Tomotherapy) post 16 cycle of chemotherapy. Till now 12 session done. But due to some maintenance issue, till now 5 days gap has come. I want to know if it impacts the effectiveness of the treatment? I underwent mastectomy and reconstruction of breast

Post Vasectomy Pain
I had a vasectomy in 1992. Immediately I knew something wasn't correct on the right side; very painful and hot. Told it will settle! Well after years of antibiotics and anti-inflammatories, a Urology Surgeon finally decided to remove the right testicle and give me a prosthesis one. Well, you'd think

How Safe is Active Surveillance?
New study [1] - a bit off-topic for this group. As most in the U.S. will know, the USPSTF (U.S. Preventive Services Task Force) turned against PCa screening because of over-detection & over-treatment. Perhaps as a reaction to over-treatment, we now have more men opting for active surveillance [AS]. Dr

Survival after radiotherapy vs. radical prostatectomy for unfavorable intermediate-risk prostate cancer
New study below [1].
"Highlights
• "There was no difference in survival between radical prostatectomy (RP) and EBRT + BT. • "RP had better survival compared to EBRT alone and brachytherapy alone. • "There was no significant difference in survival between RP and brachytherapy plus ADT or EBRT

Has anyone tried medical marijuana?
If so have you found it helpful? Which symptoms has it helped? Has it replaced any of your medications? What CBD/THC mix do you use? I'm curious because it seems to have less side-effects than some medication.

Bathmate anyone?
I own a bath-mate. Has anyone use this for getting their penis back in shape after a radical prostatectomy? My surgery was done laparoscopically with the robot and I feel like I probably want to start trying this sooner rather than later. I think the penis is a muscle and if you don’t exercise it it

Update: AR-V7 & peeing problems
A couple of months ago my husband tested positive for AR-V7, today's result came back 'no detection found'...we're excited about that news! I had posted earlier about the peeing problems, not feeling like he could empty and not being able to go at all for a day or so just a couple of weeks ago. When

Getting Mom treated for breast cancer
Today doctor took a piece of lump from my mother's breast and did biopsy. He confirmed it's cancer. I trust him but there was no sign in previous reports. He said mastectomy is required. So, we proceeded with it. Now what will be our next steps. Doctor will brief us later. He is also sending the breast

LVA Surgery with Dr. Wei Chen
I have had two LVA (Lymphedema) surgeries with Dr. Wei Chen at the University of Iowa the past year (one 12/21 and one 6/13). He has helped me immensely. The work he has done on me and his findings with others similar to me will be included in a medical journal soon. I am early stages and even diagnostic

Prednisolone and kidney stones
Has anyone experience of developing kidney stones from taking Pred? I also take prescribed Adcal calcium supplement to counteract PRED side effects so not sure if this can also play a part in developing kidney stones.
